    Hey Guys

Great designs! We are now on point 3 - '3. once the contest is closed the client has another look at all the designs and chooses a winner.' So I hope to announce a winner as soon as possible.

    Cheers

    James

    Ok, thanks for the information.
After I posted my questions I designed all day and came up with the design I just submitted.
I'll wait for personal feedback on the design.

    Hi Zendex

Its ok if there is quite a bit of open space. The main thing the client wants to promote on the home page is the A3 logo with the words 'Accessible', 'Adequate', 'Affordable' around it (as shown in the zip file). You can also include the text 'Housing Finance' on the home page, as that is the main product. Try an match the logo font with 'Housing Finance'

    Lets not include any people.

With regards to other symbols, the client would really like the 'A' part of the logo to be included in the design as part of a house (eg the 'A' forms the roof of a house - could be a line drawing). Abacus provides loans to first time home buyers for low income housing. This means that the house is quite simple - roof, 2 bedrooms, a lounge, bathroom and kitchen. This means that graphic of a home including the 'A' part of the logo can be very straighforward - here are some photos of low income houses: http://www.cma.org.za/UploadedImage…m%20ER.jpg
    http://www.buffalocity.gov.za/news2…using1.jpg

Don't use the actual jpgs in the design as they don't belong to us (just given for ideas), however you could re draw them (line drawing style) and use them as a basis adding the 'A' in some way to the house.

Here is a poor example of a line drawing of a house - http://www.yukoncollege.yk.ca/~srud…/house.gif . You could do something like that, based on the low income housing jpgs above and then add the 'A' part to it. Maybe include the colours of olive green, rustic orange, maroon into the house. This line drawing of the house could then be included in the banner, as a background etc.

    Thanks!

    James

Ok thanks. I forgot to ask one last question though. Can other sections be added to the home page? With only a 'small' introduction, the a3 image and the calculator link there's quite some 'open space' left. Maybe a "Why choose us?" section where you explain (with a small list) why visitors of your website should choose Abacus Financial Services over other companies that are offering the same services?
