Not sure what you mean by "spree in your contests"?

Nenad's was a lovely design - liked the homepage a lot. Really original, strong design. But we felt that the internal pages he designed were just too dark for our taste. MrPsycho had lightened up the page quite a bit with his version with a light background, and in the end we could also see how his design was going to follow through onto the rest of the content pages. That completeness swung it for us.

The other thing is that MrPsycho is the only one who seemed to take notice of our suggestion with regard to the logo - just to base it on one of our pre-existing segments, only red. This means we don't (in the short term) need to bother doing too much about the logo - we can concentrate on launching the beta, and getting some real feedback from our customers. Speed to market is a big motivator!

Interestingly whilst MrPsycho has won one of our contests before, that one was client-selected, and a very different design to this one. He's clearly a versatile designer.

Can I thank everyone for their entries into this contest - it's been one of the strongest contests we've run, and I'm really impressed with the quality, not just of these four, but of many of the other designs. There were lots that had real potential, but these four have turned in polished, finished articles, so have just seen off the rest.

Thanks for your entries. Sorry we've been a tad slow with the feedback - we've all been away this weekend. We're having a good look now, and will update you all. We'll aim to cut the designs down to the 2-4 designs we feel are the strongest so far. Not wanting to stop everyone else from improving theirs, but I think it's good to give you all an idea of which designs we like the most.

Dawson, that's exactly what I was thinking about. The first we might have known would have been a "cease and desist" notice from a bunch of lawyers. Not sure what you can do to protect yourself from that, apart from hoping the community will self-police itself.

If you can code it, that would be a plus. However, the design is the key.
