Winner is choosen: #38 was favoured on #37 (after both designers made some updates). It's more clean, very clear and well balanced and makes it feel it belongs to who we are. Thanks all for your time and effort and good luck in new competitions!

Why would I stay in a contest where two other entries are favored ahead of mine?

@ten dimes the article written on the Dutch blog was an article written to share my experience with crowdsourcing and 99designs.com to the Dutch online marketing community. Yes, I asked the crowd their what they thought about the top4 we were looking at, but they are not our future customers. We've ask them too to look at the designs (face 2 face or email) and at the end our own opinion is the most important one.

It looks like we are down to the final 3. I don't know why, but @ten dimes withdrew his designs. This means were now with #37, #38 en #46, where #38 (most in balance) and #37 (most attractive) are the favourites from the people I asked. I asked both this designers to complete their entry according to the original briefing.

Putting up an online poll of 550x400 thumbnails does not give a user the real sense of the sites usability and communication. The opinions are being based it on what stands out in those half sized thumbnails...and that leads to larges images drawing the attention.

Im not saying that having a large image is not a good way too go because I do think one of the designs there is done beautifully and does work very well, but i am saying that having people judge based on a thumbnail does not give appropriate feedback on how the site will actually read to them in full size.

No harm no foul. I wish you the best of luck. There are some great designs remaining and I am sure whichever gets chosen will play off well in the end. Take care.

@ten dimes it's not about stock images. Nobody likes stock images :-) It;s about the best layout and design and the best fit to our target adience and what we would like to communicate with it!

Just finished a Dutch article about my 99 designs experience as a CH and included the 4 designs most likely to win in this article: http://www.marketingfacts.nl/berich…h_ontwerp/

hey psygn.... good to hear from you on this. One thing i want to add is, i have an eye which captured details and a mind which sees things from a different perspective. SO i can clearly judge whats a copy and whats an inspiration or borderline similarity. I am talking about putting the same pictures, copy pasting same elements and so so... even when i think something i copied, i do give a benefit of doubt to it. with me, this guy(he he he... hes in here ) copy pasted the banner i designed for the client.

And let me add. All that happens when its reported is a message asking them to pull it off. Do you think that's why you expect of your effort ?

i just added it since i saw someone responding to me. I have put it all behind. So its all cool.

I shouldn't be taking the contest's space for this.

    Chao all....

@ justfair: I think it has happened to pretty much everyone here. Mine happened with the GUI for an app used by a truck tire industry, but I ended up winning anyway. When something like that happens, I would advise you to send a PM to the contest holder immediately, comment about it, and report it. But you have to keep an open mind about it, because similarity does not always equal copying. There's only so much you can do when balancing creativity _and_ functionality within the bounds of the contest holder's want's when it comes to web designs.

Anyway, good luck to the 4-star people! I don't see anyone with 5 stars anymore... must've been done to heighten the anticipation :D

Moving up to the last 3 hours. Looking at 4 or 5 good designers. Will not extend the competition, but pick a winner from the ones who are in right now. Good luck with your final proposals. Will show the designs to some people the next days and then pick a winner!

Phew ! i am so relieved to hear that people are taking measures against people copying unique designs. It has happened to me, and i am sure it has happened to many who have been passionate about their designs and developed something only to find someone came in at the last moment and made a mockup an got away with it.

Their actions of copying someone else is actually breaking the model of 99 designs itself.

I have a huge smile as i see someone participating in this competition who has done that with my designs... he he he....

bad luck to you buddy... and good luck to all others... i see that all the designs which have 4 stars are awesome.

I showed all open designs to some marketeers.

The thing they are missing is that it looks too much like a website for a technical company. We are a company with experienced, passionate people who know how to sell online. That's not just technique. We differ because we now how to persuade people. W understand people, we communicate with them.

Please look for a way to get this feeling in the design!
    Thanks

As i was going through the entire conversation of all the participants and CH :-), I personally felt that what ever 'ten dimes' has said is correct.
