I am not *making* anyone participate, just remember that please. The best of the best, will think they can do it.
I agree with the contest holder (about the quality of entries) but i also agree with other members about the guarantee ! web design is haaaarrdd work !!!
Re Guarantee: I would love nothing more than to guarantee it, which would then mean I see something that will be promising enough.
I think it's getting closer, but still not there. Maybe another 48-72 hours the way it's going, as soon some front runners will begin working on remaining pages. I want to try to guarantee it as soon as possible, but I must first see something VERY promising. As I said, getting there slowly.
To be honest, most designs suck, and that's not exactly encouraging.
@JEMatias77: :)) Yes, you are right too.
I have to disagree with the designers yes its a big prize and I would love for it to be guaranteed but lets be honest if you were ch and guaranteed the contest then didnt find the design you wanted from the entries would you want to be forced to pay 4000 bucks for a design you didnt really want, I think not.
@AriShrorat:
Just my two cents: 10% of $4,000 are $400. From the brief: "I can only offer one prize officially, but if there's a very close runner up that I like, I will most definitely award $350 second prize for that after all is said and done."
So you can just cut the second prize and made your contest guaranteed.
I am agree with KimKiyaa.. :)
Sorry if this has already been answered.. but are you going to guarantee this? Obviously a lot of designers have come here to try to win a big prize, but I've seen a lot of contest just get abandoned and so many designers have wasted their time.
Usually with a big prize, the contest holder just says "I didn't find the right design" and take their money back.
I want to enter but I'm very hesitiant.
looks hard to win...:)
>>AriShrorat said: You just Please consider more hand sketches...
Well, congratulations - you just reinvented the wheel! ;) Yes, FIRST are the sketches/wireframes, and SECOND are the designs. Particularity for contests like this where CH give us an excellent breef and phenomenally good feedback.
Cool. I'm almost finished my entry. And pleased to see you sketches just like that.
:)
I will submit very soon.
Great work guy.
GL to everyone.
I just want to comment and say that a lot of really good designs got turned down, and some of the designs I've seen myself can't possibly get much better. I saw many modern techniques used in ways that raised even my own creativity.
Good job guys, I just don't think its what Ari is looking for.
Please consider more hand sketches, what I mean when I say I am looking for a more open feel. And also some other ideas for how to style tabs. I am not looking for plain vanilla tabs, and I am sure there are other ideas out there:
Pardon the lame drawings, I wouldn't win my own contest to be sure:

And just to remind you to make you colors close to these:

I'm going to enter this :)
Thanks!
It's way too flat if you ask me.
