Thanks again to every artist who entered. The competition was outstanding and we greatly appreciate the time and work that you all put into this effort. I thought it would be helpful for everyone to see the final feedback/results from our client (the co-founder of Platypus Games) as I think he provided some good insight. Good luck to all in future competitions!

And the winner is AKRODESIGN #3.
Julie and I talked it over and, as much as we like the other sites, we feel that they have certain qualities and go in certain directions that we are trying to avoid, such as they are either:
1) too cartoony and kid-like (the airplane with the banners looks like something that would be up in a kid's bedroom...a cool design, but not the motif we want for the brand we are trying to create.)
2) too Evolution specific. I know that we didn't give folks a TON to work with in the art department, but we really want to reel back from making the site too Evolution specific and focus on making it more Platypus brand oriented while still being a fun and interesting site to play with.
3) too much like all the other websites. I guess it's hard to say "build a website" and then not want it to look like a website, but I think akrodesign's concept really took the menu selections and gives you nice, clean angles and so much screen area to play with that it really expands the possibilities for what we can insert there once each of those tags are pulled.
We LOVE the clean look of akrodesign, how we can play with the angles and background and place things in and around the Platypus logo without making it look too cluttered. It's by far, our favorite one.
Yes I did submit and then withdraw my entries but I relisted them. My original ones I submitted I needed to make a change to so I had to withdraw them. I hope they are more along the lines of what you are looking for. I would appreciate any comments you have so if I need to adjust them I can prior to the contest ending. Thanks and hope you and your client like my new designs.
Hi New-B - the contest still has 14 hours remaining. I see that you submitted and then withdrew a number of entries.
Please do not end this contest early... I have been working on a new design and I will be finishing it when I wake up. It is now 3:35 am and I need sleep my kids will be up soon. I will be posting a few different variations of my new design. I just hope it is something you will like because I have already put in a total of over 8 hours into this one design.
I see you have many great entries! Maybe I'll be able to add something as well ;)

Hi gang - thanks to all for everyone's patience while I tracked down the vector image. I apologize for not providing feedback sooner but my day today was tied up with my 20 month old twin boys. I'll get to it right now though.
