Again thanks to all ofyou and your hard work. I am going to recommend this site to my friends at other law firms. I am sure you will see them posting contests soon.

I narrowed the field so you all can see the styles that I like. It was difficult and I wish I could take them all. Unfortunately, as they say in teh Highlander movies, "there can be only one.'

Esquired, you are asking about a flash component to be added to the site, many designers and coders don't do flash, and a decent flash job doesn't come too cheap - hence the reason why the 'flash category' has been removed from these contests.

If flash is a definite requirement (which it wasn't in your original brief), please say so up front, because I'll have to remove my entry from consideration.

Nicely designed and not in your face flash can enhance a web page up to a point, but it can also become annoying quite quickly, be aware too, that popup messages can most definitely turn visitors away from a website and most popups are disabled by default by most browsers these days.

PS: Just a bit of advice for you - you didn't ask I know, but you did say you were new to all of this :-)

    TO SCORPION:

I looked at your wires and I like 4, 9 and 10. on 4 I would stretch the navigation to full width of the page. On 10 I would get rid of the navigation on the very top of the page.

so far I think the design submitted by 2 faced is the best example of what I am looking for. It is very clean with an easy to navigate roll over menu, I also like Rasad's. The others are good designs but I prefer the front page to be cleaner and to have more content on the other pages. That is why I like the drop down menus.

Is this the kind of feedback you all are looking for? Be patient I am new to all of this. Thanks!

the home drop down will just take you to the front page, the about our firm will have two sub menus for "our attorneys" and "previous cases", practice areas will have four sub menus, frequently asked questions will not have any sub menus nor will contact us.

Thanks for the update. It would be helpful if you could give individual feedback to each designer so they know whether they are going in the right direction for you,.

Also, you mention dropdown menus, so it sounds like there may be quite a few pages to this site. Your menu consists of 5 items, so that would be 5 pages, but how many more will there be if you are considering dropdowns.

Really need to know this, so we can work out whether it's worth entering, particularly for a coded contest. 5 pages vs 10 pages makes a big difference :-)

Sorry. I was getting email comments and was responding to those. I am just learning how to do this so please be patient. The designs look good so far and I like seeing everyone's different approaches. I do intend this contest to be for a coded website that is completely built and ready to go. Once I pick the design I like I will work with that designer on teh language.

As for colors I prefer something that is very clean but still draws the eye. http://www.wahlquistlaw.com/ is a website that is not too busy but looks good. I would want to add just a little more color though.

Yes it is a bit of a worry, but possibly due to the site change and no email notifications going out regarding comments/feedback, maybe the CH doesn't realise we are commenting. Then again, they logged in 10 hours ago and should have seen our comments :-)

I'm starting to wonder about this contest - High prize & no CH involvement since start time to clarify as of yet.

Scorpionagency - yes, the coded category has been eliminated for now, but due to make a comeback at some point. You may want to read the blog to catch up with what's happening.

As long as the prize money on offer is enough to cover the design & coding, then for the moment it's fine, the coding portion can be worked out between the contest holder and the designer.
