@psygn Yes great minds do think alike and yes your design of the S shape curvature is very similar to mine. That being said, I do agree with Brendon when he stated that the overall look and feel of each design is very different. Yours is a beautiful design and I wish you the best of luck.
I understand what you mean. Inspiration and plagiarizing are two completely different things, yet the line that separates them is extremely blurry. As freelancers in this type of atmosphere, we naturally like to gravitate around the favored design of the contest holder and to play it "safe." I say if the contest holder likes an idea, try to incorporate it into your design but try your best not to blatantly copy it -- instead, draw inspiration from it and create something new from it.
My final design of the S shape curvature ended up looking surprisingly similar to Createabit's, which just glorifies the testament that great minds think alike. I try to add minute details to each of my submission which plays with the elements of the logo and the type of business. =)
Could you all be more specific about this? I mean, it's not that I/we don't see it but the CH should know about this issue and decide if he likes the originals or 'copies'. One thing is for shure... the choice of colors or three category boxes (this one is logical -there are three areas that ch wanted and it's in the brief) or particular form of menu or left/right column... -if one item is used in ones design it's most likely a coincidence ('cause you must admit... it's not that we've originaly come up with this forms -you can see it all over the internet!); BUT to come to particular contest with basically the same layout, menu, column shape, colors... with all that in one design -it's shady!

In regards to images, the company is based on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. So images of the beach and high rise apartment buildings along the coastline or people with no stresses walking along the beach would be a good fit it you are going to use images. We should avoid any country/landscape images because it's not the right fit.
The images should show financial freedom, and stress free retirees or young wealthy people/couples/families.
