Thanks everyone for contributing so many great designs and ideas. I went with #82 from kkapt. I thought his designs were consistently clean and modern. Plus he was very easy to work with on revisions and that helped me think through layout. You may notice a new logo too, I threw that in at the last minute.
No second prize. I was going to offer something to Clax if we ended up using his footer but the one we went with primarily draws inspiration from 37signals and carsonified.
I'll try to get feedback on any designs I missed today.

I extended the contest because I'm waiting on some revisions. My favorite designs are coming from kkkapt, followed by Clax. I'm considering a $150 second prize since there's definitely some elements that I like from other designs.
The contest holder has extended this contest to 12 days.
Decided i'm going to keep the search in the header and have just a login box next to the conference & group sections.
I'll have a update in a few hours.
Tony, are you set on having the 3 boxes along the center next to each other. In my opinion a members log in & search are always better in the header. Unless it's a actual log in page.
Of course this is up to you and i'll design to your needs but i was just thinking that with my design there would be alot of dead space to the top right of the header with no search box there.
I redid some of the ratings so that only the designs I was really impressed with had four stars. Those are #25, #35, #45, #46, #48. (Actually #35 is a bit of a stretch but I do want to see revisions on that).
Here's some feedback based on the designs so far:
1) I really like three action boxes at the top of the content (Conferences, Groups, and Members). That way all the types of people who end up on the home page can quickly go where they need to go. #46, #48, and #36 do this well.
2) I like that #45 moved the twitters and blog posts to the footer. That was a good decision (even though I'd asked for it differently).
3) I'm really struggling with what to do with the middle section (examples and endorsements). People choose us because they hear or experience how successful our networks are (rather than because they love our features) so I want the middle section to highlight social proof. But I'm pretty flexible on what that looks like. Does anyone have any ideas?
