    Hi all,

    As you all know by now, we have awarded a winner in this contest and we are really happy with the end result. The winning design fits us perfectly!

    To all those with concerns about star ratings and eliminations: As a newcomer to 99designs, I just realized my mistake when it came to the ratings. As stupid as it might seem, I thought they were there for everyone and therefore I rated designs according to my liking, not necessarily representing the need that we as contest holders have. I'm sorry about that.

    Then what this contest actually comes down to is awarding a winner from 123 (!) real great entries. Since we can only award one single design, in the end we just kept a handful of designs which we thought represented our vision.

    As a small company with lots of tasks to handle, it's unfortunately difficult to send detailed feedback to each and everyone (even though these designs represent our future webpage - our face to the world). So instead we updated the brief twice and sent general comments to all + answered all who sent us direct messages.

    This is how it went down and we are really glad and humbled by the sheer number of great entries and all positive feedback. We'll definitely come back and hold more contests now that we know the procedures and how it's supposed to work.

    in a perfect world i totally agree with you. this is not a perfect world, this is the real world.

    trust me, i don't enjoy "wasting" my time either. but you have to look at the situation. we're always technically wasting our time, none of us enter a contest knowing that we are going to win.

    you gotta see the positives:
    - you're able to design, and have people from across the world see your work...
    - you could possible make some money on something that you've already done for free.
    - you're constantly developing and advancing your skill...

    there is never any reason to get upset with the CH is all i'm saying. they are a human being as well..

    So what is the point having briefs! CH could just request design without brief and then nobody would have any complaints.

    Because designers usually don´t like to waste time. We come freely to work on projects here and the least we should get is clear info on how to focus our efforts.

    why do you guys have a problem with the CH changing their mind? it is their contest and their money.
    the customer is always right. you gotta go with the flow, or you never get ahead.

    True, seems CH doesn't know what he/she wants. I've seen some great entries from awesome designers get eliminated. No offense, but what's left seems very "templatish" for $1.2K you could get like 12 pre-cooked templates at any shop ;-) In the brief it should read "Creativity: Optional"

    Got to agree with everyone, most of the leading designs bear no resemblance to what was asked for in the brief. My first design was awarded 4 stars, then the next day reduced to 1? Not sure what's going on but all the best to those still participating!

    Agree, very confusing. CH- How come you eliminated designs with four stars and now you leave designs with three stars still in competition. Design #102- Where is requested layout and rememberable colors. Design #94, again no rememberable colors and space between text. Submits from DesignerHills which are very similar you rate four then one star, really funny.
    You don't know what you want or you just don't know how to rate and that way confusing everybody. I don't think we gonna see the winner in this competition, wish I'm wrong.
    With all respect, I don't think you have very good taste in how web site should look. Just my opinion, sorry.

    And it's true that some of your most-liked designs are very contrary to what you say you want in your brief..
