I will follow up with the CH now.
Sorry for the delay. It will be next week before we can choose a winner. The client went away and will be back on the weekend. Will get an answer as soon as possible.
Cosmic... :)
soooo
How are things going with the client? :D
Any good news? (please please please be me)
heh seriously though, good luck to all the contestants!
-Randy
Hi everybody,
I have compiled all of these for the client to check out. There are many very good entries here, and the client may take a day or so to really go through the pros and cons of each. I will announce the winner as soon as possible.
Cosmic... :)
Hi,
I'll submit my entry on the last day.
Cheers,
Matt
Nadia P --> will try and get a bit of time to do that later. bit snowed under @ the moment. But have tried give lots of detail in my comments. So even the ones we won't take to the client there is still something to learn from the comments.
zenndex --> The search form could actually change in the actual site. We are working on this with the client, but probably won;t get a real answer by the end of the comp. So please keep it simple, with form and button. We may add text to the search form, but if so it would only be a quick one liner.
LYM.randy --> In the past I have shown the client on or around the last day of the comp. Usually then have a couple of finalists and extend the comp for a day or so for any changes required. Would be nice to only reopen the comp to finalists only then. I have suggested this as a feature enhancement to the Sitepoint guys.
will you be able to show the client the designs, before the contest ends, so that we designers may have a chance to make modifications or otherwise? It would just be nice not to be surprised by the clients choice, and have at least a last chance to accomodate their wishes.
thanks,
Randy
Could you provide some information about the search form please?
Is it just one text field and a 'search' button or is it a search form which multiple options, etc? Knowing what type of form (lay-out wise) you will use on the site makes it easier to actually preview our designs with that particular search form integrated.
And, can the search form part also have some text e.g. "2be ... have a large database that is kept up-to-date to make sure you find ..."
Regards.
Cosmic,
just a thought, it may be an idea to eliminate any entries that you don't believe you will be showing the client ...may make it easier for others to pickup on specific feedback and see which direction their design should go in ;-) Personally, I know that this has helped in other contests I have seen/involved in.
Hi zenndex,
You have it right for the elements to see. Trying to keep it relatively simple and then will do things like testimonials on the inside content pages.
Thanks for your question.
Cosmic... :)
Hi there, I have a question about what key-elements you want us to 'present' in the middle part of the page. I mean, what does the visitor need to SEE in the space between the header (menu included) and footer of the page?
If I understood it right, the key elements so far are:
- Small intro (same text as on your current site)
- Search form
- Faces picture
Are there other 'elements' that should be included like maybe some space for some news about your company (e.g. "Latest 2be news"), a client testimonial (e.g. one of your major clients giving their truthful opinion about your company) part or ... ?
Best regards.
Braveheart4 - We would do Western Union if the design warranted it. It's not our preferred option, but we will do it for the right design.
Nadia P - Good question on the widths. I am now leaning towards 980 or there abouts. But wouldn't penalize for 780.
Is there a min width for the layout? Do we need to go for a 780 (for 800px wide window size) or can we move up to 980 (for 1024px window size)?

Any other payment method except PayPal? My country does not support PayPal.
Hi everybody,
The site http://www.diadem.com.au/ isn't only a good example of how we would like to see the navigation, it is also a good example of the stylish modern simplicity we would like to see.
Of course there is no Flash and we have intro text and the job search form. But it is a very nice looking site and something along these lines would go really well in this comp.
Hope that helps,
Cosmic... :)
well, let's see, my entry will come soon.
