- Brief Overview
- HomeShopr.com is an online and mobile service that offers an organized approach to shopping for groceries. Our goal is to empower consumers so they can make faster trips in the store, reduce impulse shopping, curtail forgotten purchases and eliminate unnecessary repeat trips to the store. We will do this by publishing widgets on recipe websites (such as http://bit.ly/9jvT00). When a shopper finds a recipe they like, they click the widget to add the ingredients to their account on HomeShopr.com. The ingredients are automatically entered into a digital grocery list that the shopper can view on their iPhone/other smartphone. We'll also offer other methods of adding items to the digital list. Our prototype has a makeshift logo, font & color theme but needs a more aesthetically pleasing design.

HomeShopr.com
- Target Audience
- Our target demographic will be working mothers (age 26 to 45). A portion of our audience will also be millennial fathers with domestic responsibilities.
- Requirements
- The HomeShopr site will launch immediately after a consumer clicks one of our widgets on a publisher website. The design theme should favor professional women without being overly feminine or emasculating. Colors should evoke the feeling of safety and security as well as freshness, cleanliness and professional. Because our demographic skews young, site navigation, layout and overall style should correlate somewhat with web 2.0 design trends. The existing logo (attached) might or might not work well with some of the new designs. We are open to color adjustments but strongly suggest the font (Helvetica Neue Black Condensed). We also would like the color shift highlighting the word “shop” to remain intact.

- This contest is for 1 page but we expect to continue working with that designer for the remainder of the project. Home Page should include the following: - logo and tagline (“enjoy the benefits of a home cooked meal”) - login/ registration functions - account management functions - buttons for finding us on Facebook & Twitter - A navigation bar with these links: o How it Works o My Grocery List o My Recipe Box - a footer with links to About, Events, Blog, Partners, Terms, Privacy, Jobs, Contact
- Existing Website
- http://homeshopr.com
- Example Websites
- Companies in our space include ZipList.com, Zeer.com, Grocio.com and GroceryIQ.com. By all means, visit those sites to better understand the landscape and get inspiration but do not copy anything. The best example I can give for a grocery list is a Tweetsteam. The following are examples of lifestyle and cooking related websites that have color schemes/layouts we like. They include: http://www.cookinglight.com/ o Like: layout is clean, not cluttered o Like: layout is modular (we can rearrange without messing it up.) o Don’t like: the colors clash, the orange is nasty. http://www.gaiam.com/ o Like: great color scheme, earthy/natural/soft o Don’t like: slightly blocky, rounding the corners here and there might be easier on the eyes.
