Four finalists (the ones with five stars) have been chosen and will be reviewed further by the client. I will provide feedback as soon as I hear something. I think it will be in the next day or two.

If you were not selected, please do not remove your entries just yet. The client may want to see other options.

    Thanks for everyone's participation.

Ok did manage to give feedback to everyone, but I'm done and won't make any more comments. If you have 4 stars, your in the running. If you have 3 stars, please leave your designs up as I will probably go back and reassess each of the 3 stars. If you have two or one, you can pull them if you'd like.

Well unfortunately, I have more entries now that I can possibly provide feedback on before the contest ends. I will of course still rate each submission, but I'm not able to provide any more comments in time for revisions to be made.

I have to say that on another note, this contest holder is fabulous with feedback and trying to help. That's yet another positive that's rarely found here and another reason why the designers are staying, revising and working their hearts out for this man. It's like any new job that you gain employment, the bosses work hard for you, you work harder for them. The bosses barely know you exist.. you're resentful lol
On my ending note, I think he has so many entries because people are attracted by the entry numbers, look at everything, read the feedback and they're hooked. When a CH is willing to work with the designers as he is.. who wouldn't give it a try?? Enough said ;)

You have a good amount of entries, but there are multiple people who have put in a lot of revisions. You also had a good number of entries early on and the contest with many entries always draws the attention :P

    Amokana,

I've considered that, but it doesn't seem to have been an issue with all the other contests I've run. My biggest problem so far is getting clients who want to take portions of each design I show them and mix and match them up. I've tried very hard to get them to commit to a single design but sometimes they're adamant. In that case, what I've done in the past is to award the full contest prize to the designer who has the overall winning design and then smaller prizes to the other designers who created portions that I would like to use. It seems to have worked out well so far.

I am very curious as to why this contest has gotten so much interest... 65 entries in 30 hours? What has drawn so many people to take this one on? I've often held contests with twice the prize amount and ended up with half the entries (and much poorer quality). Is it the promise of the longer term work on the project? Is it because I've held quite a few of these and paid a winner every time?

i'm a little afraid to participate because sometimes what the client wants is different from what you prefer ... so is the brief really reliable on term of your client's preferences ?

but anyway i'll give it a try wait for me :)

Ok I've caught up. I did want to mention a bit about my scoring method...

1 star -- you need to do some serious rework and maybe even start over. If you're here, you most likely didn't follow directions, or it's so bad I don't know where to begin to start telling you how to fix it.

2 stars -- you have something that may be workable, but you'll need to make a good bit of changes.

3 stars -- its coming along very well and you'll only need to tweak an item here or there.

4 stars -- you've taken your concept as far as it will go. No more changes are necessary. I am considering presenting your design to the client.

5 stars -- your design will be presented to the client. There won't be any of these until the contest has closed and I have chosen the best few from the 4 star entries. I usually choose 3 for presentation to the client.

If I don't have enough 4 star entries at the end of the contest then I will choose some of the 3 star entries for presentation to the client.

It looks like everyone's been busy. I'll catch up on posting comments and rating your designs over the next couple hours.
