wow...this is really a "battle" contest :)
Ok guys--I'm sorry for all the raucus. And I'm sorry for the way Wazu announced he was the winner.
Wazu is still getting paid the full amount, but he did not complete a whole design. That said, had any of you done a partial design that I thought was amazing with the understanding it'd be completed upon winning the contest, I would have chosen you. In the end a I chose Wazu based on skill, and that's what any sitepoint contest is about.
True, he had an advantage, as did some others, by being in touch with me. Perhaps that is unfair, but those are problems intrinsic to the design of any competition on the web. In the end, if I thought you had the capabilities, I gave you relevant feedback. If I didn't think changing a few layout options would win you the battle, I basically said "Thanks for the contribution".
2 other artists who entered in this contest contacted me with much lower bids, and they didn't win.
It is strictly against our rules to submit entries via PM.
Rules:
A screenshot of each entry must be posted to the contest for other entrants to see. Teaser entries and privately submitted entries are not permitted.

Yes i agree with prerona, and how could a decision be based on a 10% completed design? Created in just a few hours max and known the outcome well before the contest ended... I have the time stamps on the messeges.. Also, why contact other contestants to inform them you have won before you have submitted a design, before the contest has ended and just to basiclly rub it in their face that you went behind the other contestants back and lowballed the contest holder to your design for a far cheaper price.. Lastly, hosting the contest and having so many people work hard for you in their own free time, knowing you had someone to design for you already? It is contest holders like this that is going to eventually kill the contest market on this site.
wazu,
you told you are not a fake account. you are a sitepoint member as a designer since may10,2007. show everybody that you have parcipated other contests during this period. I think 6 days is more than sufficient for that.
its a incomplete design created and modified on 16.5.2007.
im not a fake account, i only recently started on sitepoint... my friend refered me to the website im a newbie here so a bit fresh on the "usual proceedure"
yet i have read the rules again and yet it hasnt' stated anything about the issue your pointing out,
and if any joe blogs offered a cheaper price well, morally it was wrong but inrespect to that i have proven my skills and obviously have spent hours on developing it to the stages it currently is,
in respect to that i could get penalised for not providing a sufficent screenshot:
so here we go, as the entry was chosen soon after i posted it then, it wouldnt' of given much time to view the design any way here is a link to it:

1.first of all "wazu" got separate feedback/i receieved it also in a pm..check out this link: http://docs.google.com/View?docid=d…q_76fs2p9n
2.u are allowed to pm or mail the CH but not to SUBMIT UR ENTRYES TROUGH PM or MAIL...u need to post ur entry here, that is why it is called a contest!
3.I really hope not to see the smallest reasamblance between my entry and the website(once it will upload it)!
4. "well thats my bad, ill see what the admins have to say about it, therefore i will take full responsibility for my actions i do not deem the client responsible for what has happend," .....also "wazu" could be a fake account, he is a memeber since 9 may 2007!
well thats my bad, ill see what the admins have to say about it, therefore i will take full responsibility for my actions i do not deem the client responsible for what has happend,
If we could all just contact the contest holder with lower bids, this wouldnt be a contest of quality, it would be a contest of bids. I feel this contest was cheated and it has been reported.
I dont spend hours on here working for someones design to have another person go lowbid in PMs just to win the contest. Its against this sites rules and its not fair to the contestants working hard to try and win it.
