I did see your design and if it was perfect I would of put it up to the client. But it had got to the stage where first entries didn't have time to get the incremental changes that the other had the luxury of. It is a lovely design, but would of needed more work to get to become a finalist and wasn't possible in the time frame. This comp has gone longer than I wanted already because of one of the decisions makers travelling and long response times.
To H-rarr and rolandh. We are getting closer to a decision. Thanks for your patience.

PS: Congrats to both of the finalists.
The blue leaf header is H-rarr's design's strong point, but for overall look and feel, I prefer roldanh's design.
Not that my opinion counts or anything. ;)
H-rarr gets my vote out of the two.

The client has shortlisted roldanh and H-Rarr. Once they have done there changes the client will choose out of them.
I thank you all for your the energy you have put into these designs. There are some great ones in there. There was a lot of discussions about the top 10. It wasn't easy to get to a top 2.

I agree. That's why unique designs require effective use of CSS and image optimization. :)
I'm probably going to submit something later tonight if I have time.
CosmicFantasia, just a comment from some of the designs I'm seeing is that a lot of them are unrealistic in terms of being able to be implemented in a fast-loading site. For example, I see custom backgrounds that are not tile-able which means you'll have 100K+ sizes just to load up a background on any screen with a higher resolution.
Just a though and word of advice.

I have taken the short listed entries to the client. They are very impressed. Because one of the partners is stateside, it will take a little longer to get their comments. Hopefully should happen over the weekend. Will be in touch.

Please no new entries apart from those who I have asked for changes to be done. I will be taking these to the client tomorrow. Should take around a day for all the feedback as one of the partners is in the US.

I have extended the comp by a few days, to allow time for me to get feedback to you and do any changes if required by the client.
