@all: This contest ended some minutes ago. I have to say a big "Thank You" to all of you!

I am aware of the fact, that this has been a hard nut to crack. The main problem is surely the lack of a clear identity of this SOCUM. This has been more of a problem to some of you than to others.
Thinking positively one could say, that lack of a given identity could be an advantage, since the contestants were free to create such an identity themselves.
On the negative side though, every design needs to match the character of the represented group or person and without such an identity arbitrariness abounds.

Anyway, I am really happy with the diversity and creativity we received. My client will need some days to discuss the outcome and select the top 3 candidates.
I will then contact these top candidates privately, asking for their willingness to do some further modifications and probably the coding.
Based on the feedback we get, the overall responsiveness and our impression of professionality, we will select our final winner.

As already mentioned, I will probably offer the final second to buy his/her design, if the decision has been really tight and we are delighted by the design.

During the next days I will possibly eliminate some more entries to get a better overview, but will retain the entries of possible top candidates.

Thanks again for your participation and I hope to see at least some of you in one of our future contests.

    Best wishes, Bernhard

@all: Let me give you some info about the final stage of the contest.

    - During the next hours I will comment and eliminate extensively, to keep everyone on track.
    - My client will decide on the top 3 designs soon after the contest ended.
    - I will then contact the 3 top contestants and ask them about their ability to do some additional modifications and other things.
    - If the decision is really close, we possibly will offer the final second to buy his/her design as well.

    Thanks, Bernhard

Without comments or ratings we can not know the direction in which to take our designs.

I am done - unprofessional comments and lack of distinct direction. A waste of time.

@all: You can use the images from the flyer, but more important is to get the overall feeling from this flyer. It is though always possible to read the brief and try to understand our identity. Color is important but nice professional typography and grouping of elements together with a balanced use of whitespace is more important.

also i am sure we are all trying to use fonts that are suitable for the css cross brower etc... is there a particular font you would like for us to use? If we can use a variety of fonts that will be as images, then we can all branch out with that instead of worrying about the implementation of the design. thanks, debbi
