Looking forward to seeing the ratings and comments. I might just be able to enter another design with more "friendly" colours and stuff.

Tables used properly can (and have been) a viable web coding technique and many times much better as far as cross-browser compatibility goes. Css is indeed easier and has many advantages but it's not as mature as it should be yet and that's why many people still want to use tables. Whichever way you go if you do it properly the results will be too similar to make a difference.

Indeed, tables are for tabular data there is paragraph for paragraph and such :)

    Looking forward on reviews :)

eewan - Thanks for the feedback. That's what I thought. Tables never were really meant for laying out HTML.
jylan - I will ask Sidney to rate them today and I'll post the ratings.

Hi iarchitect, just wondering if you'd be able to rate the entries as well as commenting on them? In my opinion it makes it a bit easier to improve designs.

Forget the facts about where HTML is going and how table layouts are getting outdated...what do you care? Just curious?

Because doing coding with tables gives me headaches. Tables have also various flows, that's why :)
P.S. CSS is easy, flexible and much much more

    A note from Sidney:
Here is a paragraph describing the purpose of the website that may be helpful:
The marketing purpose of this proposed website is to capture the attention of those directed to it by a series of internet search engines
when inquiring about "estate planning services", etc.in Cook County, IL. Based upon my conversation with another attorney who uses this service, over one-half of the inquiries received are from out of his area - and are seeking help with a relative, etc. The website must have a color palette that is warm, friendly, upbeat (blue, etc.); must be easy to read and navigate (e.g. black lettering on white, etc.); must have appropriate and attractive visuals; must in a non-verbal/verbal way encourage the individual to communicate with me - in order to deal with their problems.

    Two things...
    1. I will have feedback for everyone this morning. I am running this contest for a friend and I need his comments. I will see him this morning.
    2. Why was the CSS layout comment such an issue? Would you not participate if the design had to be cut up into tables? It's not that much more work. Forget the facts about where HTML is going and how table layouts are getting outdated...what do you care? Just curious?

Thanks to everyone for their submissions so far.

Sorry everyone...the website hasn't sent me notifications that you left messages. CSS layout is fine. The reasons we wanted table layout are no longer valid, so CSS layout is fine.
