Note to contestants: all entries thus far have been for homepage design. This is not unexpected, but remember that the contest parameters call for three deliverables: a homepage design, a secondary page template based off elements of the homepage, and finally a stand-alone page targeted to potential employees (this page should still have complimentary design elements of the homepage and secondary template, but can take additional liberties to present a hip and edgier message to college/grad students and 20/30-somethings in the healthcare/technology job search market).

We encourage entrants to submit their secondary page template ideas and a "Careers at Treo Solutions" page along with their homepage designs. We will run the contest until we have a winning 3-deliverable package is presented. At the conclusion of the contest, we hope that the winning designer will be open to continued work with us on our site and final tweaking of the winning design. Of course additional compensation for add-on work will be available.

One final note as entrants consider pictures to use in their designs - we do business with hospitals and healthcare payers (insurance companies) primarily. We do NOT market directly to consumers, so images that show families, doctor offices, people in general are not appropriate. Look to the images in the header of our current site at www.treosolutions.com to get an idea of images that are more on target - focus on data/reports/healthcare as an industry/setting strategic direction/quality improvenment.

in re: to HTML/CSS vs. php/asp question.

We are open to both, although HTML/CSS is preferred for ease of maintainability in the long term by non-technical site authors. We have used .asp in past sites, and are well-versed in database and .asp technologies, so we are open to such use, but please extensively comment on any entries proposing these approaches and explain 1) what is being used, 2) why it is being used instead of HTML/CSS and 3) benefits of use vs. caveats to use

A general comment to all participants/future particpants:

The entries thus far are all interesting, thank you. A couple general comments for all:

Our homepage will likely be of limited textual content, so there will be plenty of room for primary graphics/images. We want to catch the visitors eye with a powerful graphics/collage of graphics, and let users use the navbar to get to specific detailed pages. Entries so far are perhaps too conservative in general, we'd like to push toward more of an edgier/Web 2.0 look, and pull back if we need to. Themes to keep in mind about us: small mobile company with a tremendous amount of helathcare/business experience, data savvy, highly technical on the data side, casual and hip workplace environment. We want our homepage to convey two key ideas: 1) we are a serious business that uses data and technolgy to improve healthcare outcomes, and 2) we are a fun place to work. We'd like to see entries that somehow entices potential employees to explore our site/company further.

    Keep the entries coming!
