Fell's Point Preservation Society/ shirt should advertise Fell's Point. picked a winning design in their t-shirt contest

For just $245, they received 121 designs from 32 designers.

This is the best way we know to get really hip, impactful designs done in a very timely and affordable fashion. I can't think of any other way of doing it now, unless we knew a true Leonardo Da Vinci of design, which we don't. Give it a try, won't cost much, and you'll be delighted you did. — Derj490

Design brief

Organization name

Fell's Point Preservation Society/ shirt should advertise Fell's Point.

Description of business

We help preserve the historic buildings of Fell's Point and build it up as a community and a tourist destination. We also run the Fell's Point Visitor Center which gets 25,000 visitors a year, many, many more now in the years of the War of 1812 Bicentennial. Fell's Point is Baltimore's original colonial port. Unlike Williamsburg, it is not a historical re-creation. The streets and many buildings actually date back to the 1700's.

Organization industry

Community & Non-Profit

Description

A T-shirt that people who walk into the Visitor Center want as a souvenir of having been here. Should be EYE CATCHING and communicate the unique MARITIME history of this port and its PATRIOTIC past. When people wear it back home it should advertise Fell's Point. Open to multiple colors, but single or more, or red, white and blue themes might be appropriate. These are the years of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. Fell's Point and the sailing ships that were built here and sailed from here as privateers played a huge role in beating the British in a war that gave us our national anthem. A theme you can use or not: "HOMEPORT OF THE FREE". Our organizational name doesn't have to be featured, the star is Fell's Point or FELL'S POINT Visitor Center.

Further requirements

Visitors all over the lot, but the core is families with kids. Visitors here tend to be a little more upscale, a little more educated and interested in our nation's early history and Fell's Point's unique role.
We'd like some designs with a sailing ship, stick with the classic Chesapeake Bay pilot schooner, raked hull, two swept back masts not square-rigged, as in the examples provided. Google: Pride of Baltimore. Could be firing cannons or not. Fell's Point's classic buildings front might also work in, picture provided. Possibly streets paved with Belgian block stones (ships ballast) Or an image of an 1812 sailor(s). Caution: pirates or their imagery are out. This community is incensed that some history has confused our patriotic privateers with common pirates. They were heroes. A classic historic look sounds right but we are open to anything striking. We might buy multiple designs.
