I am a retired police officer of 25 years, the last 6.5 I was a School Resource Officer. I travel to various schools in Canada, Bermuda and the U.S.A. talking about the issues they face on a daily basis. Last year I had 47 students come to me regarding their thoughts of suicide. This number only reflects those students where no other adults were aware. This allowed the school and community agencies to get involved so that they could get the assistance they need and deserve.
