I had hoped that after my last feedback, that my finalists would submit some designs based upon the specific requests in that feedback. It would have been helpful to see some designs using a tube...as I requested. Also, asked for something other than a stock box with the logo on top, and using some creativity by adding additional graphics relating to dogs (i.e.. paws, bones, silhouette of the dog on the logo added around the sides or something.....None of my suggestions were taken, and I am disappointed, especially after directing designers to a site that offers thousands of inspiring ideas for unique and different packaging. Even separating the elements in the logo that I provided, and applying the in creative ways to the sides for decoration and interest would have worked....but no. Thanks for the submissions, but I guess that there are limits to the amount of effort that could and should be expected.
I'm not trying to be evasive....far from it! Most of what I have seen so far has either been a copy of a box that can be purchased from any box company, and then my logo is put on the top. I could do that myself. I did give the example of what Fossil has done in the past...like their tins, with design elements added, and colors and patterns...Also, there are other options other than the square box, but no one has shown anything using a tube with a lid. That in and of itself would allow patterns and other graphic design elements relating to canines, quotations, literature or colors, stripes, circles, bones, paws, etc. to be used on the outside, and with a telescoping tube, adding another element on the lining....There are millions of options, but I have only seen the square with a sticker of the logo on top. That is my perspective right now. I'm trying here....I really am. There is a site called Design Archive that I should think would provide you all with tremendous inspiration. It is great and worth taking a look at for additional inspirations.

Truth79,
With all due respect, I don't think you are being very specific with what you are looking for, do you mind providing us with samples of packaging you've seen or interested you so that we can apply some of those design concepts into our own? Please let us know, and feel free to critique our current designs to see how close or how far we are from reaching your perspective. Thank you.
Feel free to incorporate other patterns or textures to make the design more interesting also....small scale patterns behind the logo?
Have any of you looked at design archive for unique ideas?
The designs thus far have been somewhat generic, and are strongly representative of "stock boxes" that are sold by box companies. The other issue is that the design (as stated) should have a higher-end look, and not be complicated for the retailer to use. Having to put something together will not work for them. I had also specifically stated that I need a specific "insert" in whatever package is designed. So far, there has been only one that shows one, and it would also be something that the retailer would have to struggle with putting together.
If anyone has any "specific" questions before designing, do not hesitate to ask. I have tried to be as open and specific as possible...requesting something "unique", but would not require the retailer to hassle with.
Thaaankk yooouuu!!!!
