While w3 gets the big prize of $800, I would like to offer 2-5 a prize of $200 USD each. When/if I decide to run another ad in this magazine I may use one of the runner-up designs. If your in 2nd-5th place and would like to claim your runner up prize let me know and I will arrange for payment and transfer of the files.

Great job everyone. This is the first contest I've held with 14 legitimate 5 star contenders.

Remember all 4 star entries will be featured on my site in an upcoming post about this contest.

    All the best,

    Jeremy

Using stock images as your main point of design is lazy. And if the same image is used somewhere by someone else in another company it can wreck the company's reputation. be careful ;)

way to sell yourself nitagale..lol CH: This is your contest so it is best if you (and maybe the magazine)picked the winner yourself as we will only sell ourselves..lol . If you feel guilty of letting the other 5* entries down, you can always reward the runners-up; food for thought.

OOh one more rather important thing to consider is that most of these designs are going to have a slight tonal shift as the web is RGB and print is CMYK. So what you see here is not a 100% what you will get.

    Jermey,
I don't envy you. You've got some really fantastic choices in this contest.

I think the main thing that seperates my vision from the others is the main image. My ad is call to action.
I really like w3fire's layout and text handling. In fact, I would most likely revise mine to use spot color for FREE in my bullets.

One thing to consider again in this is the printing process itself. You'll be printing at a realtively high linescreen on gloss. So reflections and glass effects need to be adjusted to account for that. The simplest ads are usually the best as your eye is not distracted.
