The title of this project is "Impressions: Jazz Construction Kits". The cover concept should have a that title included on it. The title should be well thought out within the overall design. Also consider the type setting and layout of the title. The overall design should portray jazz imagery. "Jazz Imagery" can be instruments used in jazz, jazz players, colors that are identified with jazz. Overall this needs to be eye catching and portray the proper mood of this product. A title like "impressions" leads to think that some sort of abstract art may be a good option for the direction of this design. Instruments used in this product are drums, guitars, bass, pianos, trumpets, Rhodes, and a few others.

The typesetting of the title is important. It should be creative and easily readable even if the cover is reduced to a thumbnail size.

The design can be created using any graphics program(s) you like, but we would like final delivery in PSD or PNG format, layered, at 300dpi. It will be used as the front cover of the DVD. Dimensions are 5.1" x 7.2" with 0.125" (1/8") bleed. The use of stock photography is acceptable within a reasonable price range. We aren't looking to break the budget on a piece of stock photography but if it works with the overall design we are looking for and the price is right then we are OK with it. If you choose stock photography, feel free to use the preview (watermarked) image in your mockup, and we will overlook it during the contest's duration, then will purchase it if you are the winner of the contest so that the cover can be rendered properly.
