Brief Overview

hi everyone, i help authors publish and promote their works. the client for this project has written a 200 page book for fellow psychotherapists on how to effectively treat patients using concepts and practices found in the ancient practice of Aikido. thus the title "The Tao (way) of Your Psychotherapy Practice. this will be a blind contest per the majority of designers' requests that i've received on previous contests. feedback will be provided as effectively and as often as possible. Please note the following important things: "Tao" - translated as the path, or the way, is popularly represented by the yin yang symbol. "Aikido" is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba as a synthesis of his martial studies, philosophy, and religious beliefs. Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy" or as "the Way of harmonious spirit." Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury. Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker & redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on.

Psychotherapy, or personal counseling with a psychotherapist, is an intentional interpersonal relationship used by trained psychotherapists to aid a client or patient in problems of living. It aims to increase the individual's sense of their own well-being. Psychotherapy is often represented as a symbol through "Rorschach" which is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded & analyzed the cover of this book needs to be contemporary but does not need to be 'edgy', as professionals in this arena can be found all over the "tradtional" spectrum. so contemporary but refined. i encourage you to use the symbols mentioned above if you can...yin/yang, rorschach.

(all supporting files included: fonts, images, art, etc.) Bleed: 1/8” (0.125”) all sides Type safety: 1/4” (0.25”) all sides Spine Type Safety: 1/16” (0.0625”) left/right sides All covers should be built with a mod 2 spine calculation (page count divisible by 2).
