Description

A book cover for an epic fantasy novel.
I will need the final psd file, layers unlocked, and any font files (not sure if it is possible, but we would love to be able to add a spine and back cover for a 6x9 paperback, description to place on back cover can be provided).
I will need it to be 300 dpi and 1600 pixels wide X 2400 pixels tall

The book is about a world filled with magic. Every animal and species has it in some form. It is set in medieval times, and starts with a peace treaty signing that is brought to a halt with the collapse of the palace the ceremony is held in. We want to avoid characters on the front cover so a shield, or symbol would be best. Notable items for possible incorporation are a wand (just a stick picked up from the ground that looked attractive to the wand-maker) an amulet worn around a woman's neck, a short sword, bow and arrow, a book with no words in it, a vial filled with dried blood. Many different animals are a part of the story as well so feel free to add them in the symbol. Noteworthy animals are prairie-dogs (two are main characters) eagles, unicorns, and dragons. Magic is in the form of "strands" that are viewable only to a Wand-Maker.

Title "Osric's Wand: The Wand-Maker's Debate" on top. The title will need to be legible in thumbnail and the author names: Jack D. Albrecht Jr. and Ashley Delay, will be stacked, visible in thumbnail, on the bottom.

We want this to be a bit mysterious but vivid in the realm of George R.R Martin. A sketch to start is fine. Attached is a copy of our old cover which was everything we asked for, it just doesn't stand well next to best sellers in the genre. We are looking for creativity, when the last cover was heavily author directed; have fun with it.

I want exclusive rights for digital and print reproduction, including but not limited to websites, ebook retailers, book covers, bookmarks, business cards, totes and other promotional materials.

Further requirements

demographics seem to be YA and mostly women between the ages of 18 and 35
