Broadway or The Broadway
First & First renovates historical commercial buildings retaining their historical interest and enhancing them with contemporary design elements. Many of our buildings are brick and timber with high ceilings and large windows. Our tenants tend to be progressive/creative entrepreneurs. Our goal is to provide an inspired work spaces that feeds innovation. We reimagine forgotten buildings by stripping them down to their bare structural glory and rebuilding them to incorporate contemporary spacious designs with the grandeur and elegance of tradition. Broadway will house many different tenants from tech companies to artists to craft breweries to a fabulous new restaurant with a stunning water structure that runs from the parking lot to the outdoor eating area. Broadway is in a prominent location right off of a major freeway so it needs an identity that will draw visitors.
Architectural
This recently acquired building was an old mattress factory called Land of Nod. It is a historical two story brick and timber building. It is on a very busy corner in NE Minneapolis. We will call this building The Broadway. When the building is fully renovated, it will be used for creative entrepreneurs (creative tech companies, small ad agency, micro brewery, small art gallery etc).
Some time ago, the street was raised and, as a result, the building lost a lot of it's street level exposure. We want to to restore the prominence of the building in a creative thoughtful manner.
Our goal is to make the building more visible from street level. Make it stand out. The roof top solution shouldn't require a lot of structural support. For example, a green roof would be to heavy and need too much infrastructure to support it. The solution will be primary artistic. This could include creative signage, lighting, artistic element or...
We are currently interested in all styles of logo. We will narrow down styles that we like as we start seeing designs. Remember that Broadway is a large space made of brick and timber so it is very traditional and historical and we have cleaned away the dust and grime of age and incorporated contemporary elements into the space.
