#6 I really like way he's floating midway in the z-axis of the picture and his torso and the other images bleed together. I'm not sure what everything represents though. I think that's an atomic bomb over the image right shoulder but it looks more scaly than smoky. I can't identify the bar in the upper left of the image, and I'm not sure about light bulb and the palm tree. It looks great but I could use a little clarification.

I think the text might be too small but that's not a problem for this contest.

#8 - Thank you for including the computer! I admit I'm biased towards Von Neumann's contributions to computer science so it's refreshing to see what non-programmers pull from his biography, but the architecture he designed for the IAS computer runs every computer in the world today, so it seems worth featuring.

While the grown up in me likes the less cartoony pictures, I'm probably going to have to find some 10 year olds and ask them what they like. I could see this one being a big hit with younger kids.

If you do choose to include a card frame with the art, please know that it will likely not be used. The card frame depends a lot on the design of the game and what the mechanical requirements are, and that is all preliminary.

However, a nice looking frame helps me envision the card as a card rather than just a picture, so it doesn't hurt. Just try to make the borders thin like #10 or flush with the card edge like #6

#7 Not wild about the digital style of the text box, but the circuit-board background is nice and I like the circle icons.

In #11 (left card) I like the way the Mathematician bar fades out on the right. I also like the way it takes up the whole width of the card - the art gets small when it's 1.5"x2.5" that that space on the right is too precious to give up.

#10 made me realize that I hadn't really thought about the back of the card. I originally thought of just using the short GSK logo like in my profile pic but it's worth giving more thought to. Maybe hold another contest for that.

@Quiroz : Yes, it's mine 100%. I can post disassembled layers of painting to prove it to you :) Anyway thanx for the praises. I'll try to do some frames so it will look a lot cooler.

    Some preliminary feedback:
#5 and #3 have the right idea. I want an image that conveys the nature and magnitude of his accomplishments and discoveries, not just a picture of an old white guy (there are a lot of old white guys in the history of science).

#3 is a little cartoony, which might work with a whole body but looks a little off with just a head. Plus is looks like he has a horn on the left side of the image.

As far as the card frames go, I'm partial to the crisp look of #1, and I like the layout of #4, although I don't know at this point which attributes or items would have a graphic.

Well, you've already educated one person...I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never heard of him. I'll see what I can come up with :-).

Important Note: I'm looking for an illustration that captures the power and magnitude of the person (Von Neumann in this case). I'm not looking for the graphic design and frame of the card - but I will need that later and will keep in mind anyone who does a good design there. This contest is all about the art.
