#5 looks great, really flows.
#2 Thank you for your entry. I like the contrast, but would like to see more flow and possibly a small amount of film element. This poster as a whole looks more like the past. With the title being "Past present and future", is it possible to incorporate some "present" into the look? You are on the right track.

I agree completely with innovativeatuls comment. I would like to see the poster flow a little better and become softer and have more "wow". This looks a little "piecy" to me. Jazz is smooth and flows. I have added a new link to the creative brief with additional stock photo elements that may be helpful in designing. This is our first time on 99 Designs, but we will have regular print design work for our winner. We are looking to build relationships, not just outsource one project.
This is a very interesting contest from a very good client. Lots of work ahead and great opportunity.
#1 I think your design is lack "wow" factor. Nothing personal, just my experience says it needs improvement but a good try.

Hello, you state you´d like to maintain the color scheme. Would you mind if we used white instead of red for the title? (I´m only asking because I believe if would get the poster much more attention.)
