I've also just paid US$100 to guarantee the contest (and asked to extend it by 3 hours). Hopefully will show up soon.
Hey guys, There's 3 and 3/4 hours left to go. I need to go out for 2.5 hours so won't be able to provide feedback over this time. I'll be back after that though and will be watching the competition for the last hour, and will provide whatever I can in that time.
@waala Sure thing - I won't be closing the comp early. @Ignareint totally agree, #14 is cool.
Just wanna let you know... 14 is uber cute! XD That's what I planned on doing if the design is chosen, but now that you have number 14, I think it's quite a good design to choose, CH. ;-)

Hi Ignareint. Thanks for the suggestion. If anyone needs more time, please let me know and I'll consider extending the competition. Ignareint, it looks like you weren't looking for an extension yourself - just suggesting I might like to give the other designer one?
May I suggest extending the contest since you seem to have a new designer interested in this? Just a suggestion... But if you feel that you want to end it on the planned schedule, then please do. Thank you.

Hey guys, just a quick note to be clear that I won't be awarding the prize to designs 1 - 12. I don't feel any of them are enough of an improvement to replace what I have at the moment. I think I've provided you with feedback on all of your designs to give a chance to improve?
I'm not sure if I should click the eliminate buttons on them or not?
On any graphic or label etc I can perform resize, move, rotation, and opacity animations. Over any time period. This means I can make the level up graphic 'shake' or the kana symbol fade out and fade in as it transitions to a new symbol. I've worked some of these transitions into my current design. Happy to share the app with any designers who want to see it in action. You need an iphone or ipod touch to get it to work though.
Details regarding these animations will be great. Thanks.
FYI - I can easily add resize, move, rotation, and opacity animations.

I've just updated the brief to a 480 x 160 working space. The status bar at the top of the screen has been removed. The keyboard is fixed though, so the 480 x 160 working space is final.
