thank you to all for a great contest! I met with the owner tonight and he made a joint decision with the future manager to go with Penflare's design!
It was a very close finish with one of Nina's designs but Sean clinched it!

Hey guys!
Im with the owner now and the quality of work is brilliant!
However he made the following points..
1. most of the designs are a little too high end i.e. with a logo that looks like a fine dining restaurant it may put off some possible customers like teenagers, and only appeal to customers with alot of money - he doesnt want that!
basically we need a logo that has the right balance of casual and upmarket, the design that does this best will be a winner!
thirdly the logo must stand out at a distance, so stick with professional fonts but they must not be too slim! It has to be clearly readable on signage from a distance!
Also, while he likes the colour scheme gold on black, he doesnt want everyone to submit in these colours.. he would like to see the use of other colours to give him more of a choice!
