Hello Everyone,
well, I have talked with the client at historic maps restored and we have come up with a decision. Before I give that, I wanted to say a huge thanks to all of you entered designs into the contest - we really appreciate the efforts you have made. There have been a variety of ideas and designs, some close to what we wanted, some not, but overall, they injected new life and inspiration into our thoughts on the site.
The design work for the template came down to 3 designers, solutioncreative, finn welsey, and tumms. All very good and also different. But we had to go with one designer and in the end we have chosen Parth at SolutionCreative. The design is by no means finished or ready for publication, but we felt that it gives us the best platform from which to fine tune it to exactly how we wish - so in a way we were picking the designer as well as the design.
The logo was a little different. The client could not choose a winner from those presented. The closest design to winning was the one by solutioncreative but it is not what we want to use. Instead, what we will do is to work with solutioncreative directly to finetune his logo with our further ideas into something we like. It's for that reason that I have shown him here as the winner.
Thanks to all who participated - I personally learned a lot regarding how to hold an effective design contes and I am sure I will be back with more interesting assignments.

I'll be entering a logo submission but I'd reccommend extending the competition by a few days to allow for the web design
