OK I added a bunch of comments that will hopefully be helpful. I appreciate all the entries. Overall I'd say there are 2 things I'm seeing a lot of that don't work for me. 1) dark background, and 2) Too bold of a font.

I typically like a lighter font (like in the sitepoint logo for example). And this logo will live on a white or light colored background.

Also the logo does not need to have guitar imagery in it. I like cool shapes but they don't have to be obvious about being guitar related, if you know what I mean.

I have no idea what "web 2.0-ish" means to be perfectly honest. I have a pretty good idea of the site design in my head, but the logo needs to come first.
