Congratulations to Neticule!

Some fantastic design concepts. This was my first outing on 99designs and I'm sure I'll be back with some more work in the future.

I want to say a special thanks to four other designers that came very close to winning: Graphx78, Dhods, jmutton and danield6. I'd like to give you a small token of appreciation for your efforts in the contest (I'll pm you).

Contest has been extended to work through some designs and to take into account the upcoming Thanks Giving in the US.

The competition is drawing to a close, but I may need to extend by a day or two to work through some ideas.

At the moment, I'm wanting to see people play around with their use of the icons. I want something to make the whole logo concept a little more 'fun'; something not too in your face or cheesy.

Possibly understated, but it should be obvious as to what it is. The icon is the obvious choice, but could be a play on a letter or something else. Experiment.

Some really good entries now. I'm going to try and get through all the feedback tonight, but if I don't, it will definitely be up for tomorrow. Before I do, do people prefer to see entries that aren't making the cut as 'eliminated'?

No need for people to put 'VS' in all design concepts btw - that's not an essential and only came about by coincidence. You're welcome to try anything you want. Remember to play with colour schemes too ... and please include designs with and without tagline holders.

There have been a couple of entries that have caught the eye again today, and it’s the designers that are really thinking about how best to portray the site theme with a unique stylised icon in conjunction with the domain name. I know that sounds obvious, but they’re the ones that stand out for me. All different, but very fresh, clean and unique.

I know ‘fresh’, ‘clean’, ‘unique’ etc. are all very cliché (and you probably get it all the time here), so the easiest way is for me to explain more about how the site is supposed to be portrayed.

Although there have been some great entries that have covered different aspects of the brief, I would like to see more play in giving an overall feel that the site is not just there to save you money … it’s about having some fun at the same time.

Remember, people love feeling that they’ve played an active part in finding themselves a deal when it comes to online purchases, and that’s what voucherstuff.com will do by providing the latest voucher (coupon) codes to go off and use at the store of their choice. The logo must reflect this, and not a stuffy finance site selling mortgages or credit cards. It’s about people hunting down discount codes to save some dosh at the checkout! Deal hunters.

There are some very obvious things that can be played with like vouchers, currency, tags etc. … but it’s the designs that have a unique take on this or can think of something out of the ordinary that will win the competition. They’ll bring that something extra that sticks out above the rest.

I’m now going to start going through the designs to rate them. I have provided feedback on all the new designs today and will continue to try and do so. To recap, here is the rating system that will be used (thanks again to Randle):

2 stars and below - not what we are after
3 stars - getting closer but needs revisions or a different take on your design
4 stars - your design is being considered
5 stars - we really like the design and it is highly likely we will make our final selections from these
