Ecovise will provide Home Sustainability Assessments (HSA) to home owners & renters so that they can gain knowledge & understanding of how to decrease their energy/water bills, and lower their emmissions to the environment.
Recommendations will be made with the focus being to:
1) support & induce positive behavioural change e.g. not running the tap while brushing teeth etc.
2) highlight renovation/retrofit options eg. insulation, hot water solar, passive designs.
3) inspire & empower people by supplying them with the info to 'make a difference' within their own home.
4) quantify the cost savings
5) be general port-hole for information regarding local community & national support initiatives e.g. rebates + community workshops.
ECOVISE
This is a local start-up business that really wants to target people who are keen to learn more about what they can do toward climate change, as well as protect themselve against high energy costs in the future.
Stay at home Mum's are a key demographic, due to their time availability at home during the week, and their interest in home environment.
Also people considering renovations will be particularly interested in getting an assessment, as opens opportunity for interest free loan (government initiative) to make any of the prescribed changes.
This is a residential only offering, so focus of the business leans towards encouraging people to act, & adopt empowering attitudes & behaviours towards sustainable living. It's a personal service, with a community feel.
Saying that I want a strong brand image. I intend to develop the business into other areas, e.g. online store for eco products, or/& gardening/permaculture services (though this is some way off) & therefore wish to have a Brand that is solid, transferable, and stands for our values of enviromental integrity and personal empowerment.
I'm offering a blank canvas, though one point I will make is that I can't really imagine something that doesn't contain green of some sort...!
I'd like to see a black & white version too though, so I can see how it works for none colour print scenarios.

The logo design is for website, business cards & stationary. Logo will be used for complete branding.
I've read that a square logo can be good if intending to communicate the brand through social networking portals like twitter & facebook, which I would... so something that along those lines would be great.
Again - I WILL GIVE REGULAR FEEDBACK, as I will only really get an idea of what I want once I've seen it ! :)
The files we will require are:
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo
(I've copied the file format info from the sample brief on the 99design help page.. I'm assuming this is the best option for me, though if this is not correct, then please advise, as not up to speed with the lingo!)
