Hi Folks, I think we've come to a decision. We've asked the artist for one additional change that is fairly straightforward. I'd recommend holding for the moment. Once I hear back from the artist we'll end the contest, and announce the winner. Shawn and I are also talking about some runner up prizes as well since you've all worked so hard. I hope in the long run that each of you thinks it was worth while to participate in. Thank you all for your hard work.

Hi Folks, so I got about 15 minutes with Shawn today and we did another very rough cut of the designs. With only 15 minutes, that's about all we could do. I believe for everyone still participating, I've given some sort of individual feedback. I've also dropped notes to the very competent designers who's designs we've removed from the competition. We're going to try and narrow it down to the finalists on Monday night. We've even decided that we need one more judge to help us decide, since these designs are so good. Frankly I feel we're up to our ears in quality here. There are so many good designs by so many good designers that really the next step is for us to sit down together and make the hard decisions of what we really want. Each of you has worked diligently and produced excellent designs, and you've each been very receptive to our suggestions. We couldn't have asked for better. I am considering, at this point, multiple rewards. Only one winner, but several, thank you for your hard work, prizes. However, if I gave money to everyone I think who deserves it, the contest would cost us about $700. So, in the end it's still going to be a very hard decision. At this point, I can only say thanks to each of you, and I'll try to keep you informed as much as possible.

Hi Folks, due to our work and travel schedules, my partner and I may not be able to sit down together to review these until Sunday or Monday. I will try to continue to give constructive feedback throughout the competition. There are so many good designs and designers that there's a great deal for us to discuss. Thank you all for your hard work. Also, I thought I should mention that I have been giving a lot of feedback and requesting several revisions for some of these designs. This is partly due to my background. I work as a technical director for computer graphics at a large CG studio. As such, I'm used to sometimes doing 20 or 30 revisions of a complicated shot over several weeks (sometimes months). So if you're wondering why I'm say things like "the palm tree on the left could be a little lower" it's because that's the sort of thing I hear all the time. I realize I might seem like a picky client. Believe me when I say I've been on the other side as a provider as well. Thus I also appreciate all the effort you're putting in. I know it's a lot of hard work! Thanks again, Bob

Also, one of the things I was wondering about, tho I haven't cleared this yet w/my partner, would anyone be interested in an alternate prize of booking a weekend at Rock Garden (i.e. your choice of $150 or a weekend at Rock Garden, which we normally charge about $600-900 for)? Of course, if you never have any intention of visiting the Palm Springs area, that wouldn't hold any value for you. But if you were, it might be a great deal. We could leave it as a potential option to the choice of the winner.
