This month, Mashable became the “Social Media Guide.” To celebrate the launch of our new website and branding (but mainly because we thought it’d be fun), we’d like the design community to take our logo and new tagline…and Mash them up!
We are awarding 15 different winners, each for $150!
Update: Don't think "new corporate logo", think how can I create something (within the guidelines) that will fit on a Skateboard or you can see on a t-shirt or something hanging up in a museum ;)
Mashable.com – The Social Media Guide
We’ve partnered with 99designs, a venue for “crowdsourced” designs, to host the Remix Mashable Design Contest, giving you free reign to Mash, mix and remake our logo and tagline into anything you please. Throw in some grungy fonts, or go high class and modern. Add pop culture references, or re-imagine Mashable as a breakfast cereal, a detergent brand, or a death metal tribute band. Our brand is yours for the Mashing; the only requirement is that you base your design around the phrase “Mashable: The Social Media Guide”.
Submissions will be open from March 10th until March 24th. After the submissions are closed, we’ll select 15 winners who will each receive $150. Each winning design will then be showcased in our Zazzle apparel store. We’ll be announcing the winners on March 31st, 2009.
If you’re a web design fan, you might want to check out Mashable’s extensive archive of Web Design lists, featuring hundreds of resources. We’re continuing to expand this collection of design articles, and welcome guest authors with design expertise.
