Ok, I just awarded the winner of this contest to Chere! this was a VERY close call - I ended up letting my Vice President of Sales and Marketing make the final call since he's in charge of Marketing. Some of the deciding factors were the following:

- it looks good both in print and online
- it looks good in multiple colors
- it portrays a great sense of professionalism and style
- it has a very unique and professional look
- it incorporated a brand within the logo - the P will be used on things like cork pullers, etc. This was an unexpected benefit that we got from this entry

Congratulations to Chere for her great entry and to all those who submitted logos in this competition. We certainly appreciate it. Now, onto the website design! I'll be running that contest in the next week or so.

OK. We're done.. Whew. THANKS TO EVERYONE who submitted designs. I gave tons of feedback (as much as I could), and folks were really great about making changes. funny how this whole process works - little changes can make such a big difference! I think it's really down to four entries at this point - I've marked all of those w/ 5 stars. The cool thing is they are all so completely different.

We're going to take the weekend to really dig into these final entries. I've even taken all the finalists and used them on letterhead and printed them out, in addition to the full-size printouts, so we get a really good picture of what the brand will look like. I will announce a winner by end of day Monday, if not sooner.

Ok, time is running out!!

I've gone back and really thought about what is important to us, I printed ALL of the logos out today and pasted them on sign boards and had several people vote on their top 3. As such, I've now re-assigned score values to the entries I think represent what we all really really like. this is a TOUGH contest - there are so many great and creative entries. Although I will assign a winner to the contest, we are considering using a couple of different designs since there are a few different aspects to our business. If we do that, I'll declare a winner and then provide the runner-up(s) with something of value. Some bottles of wine perhaps? In addition to this new business venture, I'm also a winemaker....

I'm just amazed at the quality of the entries. THANKS TO EVERYONE who participated - you are all to be congratulated.
