Congrats to who ever wins from that list and perhaps your next contest you use the elimination feature so artists
don't feel they are being strung along on any false hope from "looks good".

The contest is over but we are still debating over which one to choose, give us a few more hours and we will let you know. We are going to email a few people and ask their opnions. Here are the artist that we are considering; gaba, StrayBullet, mangamonster, highendprofile, kmoneil, ewangpogi and eyen. Thank you for your patience.

    C3studios,

If I offended you I apologize and take back what I said to offend you on here.
If I could remove my comments that were offensive I would, but Sitepoint has
disabled that feature and claims the button was a glitch that should never be
on here in the first place. I look forward in your feedback and hope all is well.

actually, we HATE designing logos. 99% of all clients come to use already with a logo. Sometimes you get one that needs one, so I tell them upfront.

"We hate designing logos and we do not do them, afterall your logo is everything and defines your company. So rather than you paying us $400.00 and one graphic artist sits there all day designing all these examples that he/she (graphic designer) likes, then giving it to the project manager for them to narrow it down and or send the graphic artist back to the drawing board, then delivering it to you. Only to find that you do not like the 3 or 4 designs we have. Not it starts all over. Which costs us more money than $400.00 is worth. SO, why not have a contest with designers from around the world with diverse backgrounds and experience. We hold the contest for $300.00 and cover the entry fees and you pay us $80.00 on top of it for managing the contest. Which would relate to less than 2 hours of work for us which is near our hourly rate. This way you get the best logo that you deserve and everyone is happy."

So that is what happens. Some clients think, hey why don't we just have a lower prize money, but I try to talk them out of that as I think the $300.00 is the best number for results. So they mostly go for that. As you can see I have had a couple of clients do it for less. Anyways, they all know what is going on and ACTUALLY read all your posts. I am the only one that interacts with you. This makes sure that you are treated fairly and not abused. I used to have contests WAY before sitepoint even existed on other popular forums. Look at this one I did at FlashKit.com, in August of 2001. I think the prize was $2,000.00 for a logo. I was crazy in those days. I had some in 1998, but could not find any, I barely found thisa it was and it is not even the original post.

Anyways, this contest is for my new personal business. I own Tech Ninjas.

It actually is mainero. think of this. You post ads everywhere in your city, people come to you, you charge them an hourly rate say 60 bucks an hour, you hold the contest in sitepoint according to what they want or do. You come back to the contest and take samples of the ones you like the most/show best skills (you know because you are a designer)You show them to the client and he gives you feedback that feedback you post on your contest entrant and continue until the end. You declare a winner and pay him cheap. you charge good money for the logo development and in the end you had a good 75 to 100 professional designers working for you without a pay investing just 100, 200 or 300 for the winner. Smart eh?

Well c3studios, there is a feature on here that eliminates entries you don't like or consider
something you want. You have the power to cut back the 50+ and Designers know the taboos of
using others designs or concepts as SitePoint will weed them out. There is no waist of time
in this process. When you help us out you are helping yourself out in getting what you want
to pay for and proper feedback is just that.

sorry I missed yours. I have this argument all the time. I do not think it is right to comment on a design. Here is my experience and reasons.

    1. I think it is not fair for me to single out a design OR mislead people into thinking that I am favoring a design.
    2. people will copy it and I will not get very many creative entries.
    3. will make potential contest designers think I have unofficially declared a winner, and why bother entering
    4. it misleads the designer into thinking that all they have to do is keep adjusting it until I like it
    4. it will waste your time
    5. I do not know what I want until I see your winning entry
    6. when you have 50 plus entries, it is not fun making up some BS just to leave a comment, THEN do this everytime you submit a tweak
    7. this is a contest, if you have the best you will win

those are my reasons for putting "looks good" on each one. If I put something else, I may be just trying to help you on future contest OR I really want to know if you created the icon yourself. I am officially saying, "looks good" means that it looks good enough to count as being a submission into this contest. There are 45 entries and there will be ONE winner, lets not waste each others time.

No one was question your integrity, just the fact that there was no feedback and what feedback anyone got is severely lacking
to help us determine what it is you desire. "looks good" just doesn't cut it AFA feedback, and my entry happened to get none
at all, even though I notified you about the impending suspension of your contest.
