Alright.., we have chosen the winner. We ended up going with something compeletely diferent that what we were originally picturing.., I guess thats what running the contest is all about.

We would like to thank everyone for all your entries.., absolutley fantastic work. We ended up liking soooooo many of them that we are thinking we want to have a rotating logo that changes on a periodic basis.

Ok.., finally found some time to clean up some of the entries that are fitting and provide some more feedback.

The #17 monkey is the favorite right now, and the font and colors are closest to what we are picturing in #38. Some combo of these to elements and styles would be great.

This is great.., you guys are busting out some really cool stuff. I was able to get another $50 for the project so it is now $300.

Some thoughts/feedback on all of the new variations:

Really liking the monkey, full body, on the left.., with tail but not too long

From a face/attitude standpoint I am liking #10,#13,#32.

Thoughts on overall strength:

#28 is pretty awesome all around, just needs a full body.., little to smiley/toothy and tail is too long curling all around

#25 is nice.., monkey tail and face needs work

I have provided feedback on each one.., will add general feedback here as much as possible too

Lovin the new additions and rev's based on feedback.

Liking the monkey on the left of the font more than over the top. The monkey in #17 that is touching the P is great. Also liking the monkeys that come across more playfull, not quite as serious, and with tails more.

The pixelized X in #19 is a great touch.

oooooooohhhhhhh yes.., another monkey logo. Who doesnt love monkeys?

Typically for community driven and open source the project has a mascot. We have chosen to use the monkey after this sock monkey we have lying around.

Great to see the entries rolling in already.., thank you for all your submissions.

Favorite monkeys so far in no particular order are #15,#13,#9,#10. I like the playfullness of the juggling monkey.., maybe something there with a monkey standing on the left holding a pixel in his hand/tail or something.

Favorite fonts so far.., again in no particular order are #6,#4A,#9. The #4A is probably my favorite right now.., a little too much like the reference hadoop project though, the x is dope.
