Congratulations to wolv for the winning entry.
It was extremely difficult to choose the final design, but we feel wolv's logo will work best for us and our needs as we grow our business. Wolv has been a pleasure to work with, and was very accomodating with our final requests. We never thought we'd get a logo designed by someone half-way around the world, but that simply goes to show you how well this website works.
We can't say enough good things about sitepoint/99 designs. The contest exceeded our expectations.
To the many designers who entered our contest - THANK YOU! The incredibly thoughtful and creative entries you provided had us anxious to check in on our contest multiple times daily just to see what was new. Keep up the wonderful work.

I have to go with Charles for design. The color is terrific! and Arpad for watermark. I think if Charles got rid of the filled circle,( for Black and white version) made it transparent inside, with only a thin gray outline to show it is in a circle he could still use the gray D inside it. Then i think he has a watermark!

Any of these 6 designs will work as a watermark. You just have to take the gloss off of it and I think they all still retain the design integrity.

Reub, intuitive and clever but I am not sure that the finished peice looks as good as the concept of it!

Haetro, very nice but I would have to agree with van4u as it would be suitable for an artist but doesn't say photographer to me either!
wolv, Second from bottom right looks good but if you take away the emboss and the shine etc it doesn't stand so strong as you can see from the example underneath that is in black and white!

Sergawain, nicely put togehter but, Sorry it just doesn't do it for me as the icon is too big!

Charles, Looks nice, but thats it, seems a little to generic, and doesn't really grab me either!

Arpad, well the icon looks good and would work well as a watermark, but the typography is what does it for me! over all it has a professional finish and a feel of quality which can go along way. It also works well with the DM in a different color and it could be any color, very veratile! I personally prefer his earlier submissions as I thought they looked professional, were thought provoking and would maybe gain quite abit of attention, which is good for generating clients! And some times it pays to simplify your thinking and come up with a genius idea that is just so simple no one else thinks of it! That to me is just great as logo design is all about the concept! SO my vote goes to Arpad!!

In saying that, all the 6 designs that have made it to this point are pretty spot on in their own right so well done to all, and good luck, may the best man win!

P.S all crit is ment to be positive and not intended to offend anyone in any way shape or form, as you can see from my one entry I am really just starting out in logo design as I am primarily a webpage designer and I am learning something new every day, Identity design is far more challenging than any other form I have yet encountered and thats why I have a lot of respect for anyone that gets this far!

Thanks for letting me have my say,

    Happy designing,

    Bazpots ;)

Congrats on the final 6! But if I was a betting man and looking at what will work as a watermark as most know the web2.0 doesn't work that well, Arpad design is the winner. But that is based on what will watermark best over any image. ~Bob

What an amazing contest/experience this has been!
We never imagined that we'd have the interest in our logo contest - nearly 300 entries!
It has provided a real rush of excitement the last 10 days each time we'd check in on our contest to see the new designs.
We hope that no one was offended by our comments/critiques. If anything was done incorrectly, our sincerest apologies.

    Finally, there are 6.
1 of these entries will be chosen as our logo.
    They are (in alphabetical order):

    arpad
    haetro
    reubenhauser
    Charles Sels
    sirgawain
    wolv

All of their submissions are still "highlighted" above.
We are considering how much they will work for branding our name, for watermark, for adaptability with our clientele, for name recognition, as well as a few other intangible qualities.
The winner will be notified in 2 to 5 days (maximum!).

Thanks again for a wonderful experience and for all of your creativity.

    My pick is "wolv".
haetro`s design looks for an artist not photographer...
berger`s round design is too big comparing to the small text in it...
rosslaccay`s as well - too big lens - it is a nice one though I like it
Charles Sels` design - I can see "M" but I can`t really see "D" in it, somebody can say there is "O"
I`m sorry if I`ve offended someone, that is just my thoughts! Good luck to everyone including me ;)
