I completely understand and am over it now but I felt caught off guard by it, I mean I wasn't thinking "yay I won" before it was over, I was just thinking the results would be a little different.

My comment towards Bob still stands as he has had past acts of hypocrisy, and a comment to make you think that the quality of my designs was poor is just disgusting and a horrible way to degrade someones work to make his own stick out.

I am happy that you guys came here with a concept and left with a design you liked.. I wouldn't wanna win and the person not be satisfied with my work and effort.

I hope the best for LISPR and the community of LISPR, I am now a registered member and plan on posting on the message boards!

    Take care,
    Daniel

    Hello everyone.
We understand your feelings. Dan was absolutely in the lead when we were looking at the "black Island" designs. Honestly, we were not leaning towards BombadierBob for most of the contest because he was doing alot of the "Badge" shaped designs which we didn't really care for at all. But suddenly, when we saw entry #16 by BombadierBob we began to stray from the "Black Island" idea because we just liked the "blue fade" coloring on the Island soooo much better. We also liked the font that was used on the lettering below the Island. We did see that some of you submitted colored Island designs as well but most seemed too dark and we just liked the way BombadierBob's faded into a lighter color.
Admittedly, we were not able to respond to every single design submitted and we apologize for that. But as stated in the details of the contest, there were 5 people who all had to agree on the design so it was difficult to comment on every single logo submitted because we all had such varied opinions on each one. If we had made a comment on every single entry, they would have looked something like this: "Member #1 loves this design and thinks its perfect, Member #2 thinks the font is too bold why not try Garamond, Members #3 and #5 think its too cartoony so try it with a more "serious" Island and Member #4 hates it altogether and doesn't think it can be improved". Do you know what I mean? That type of comment doesn't really help the entrants improve their design. If anything it makes it a little more confusing. So what we had to do was give basic guidelines to all the designers then get all 5 of us to log on each day in an effort to see one that pleased all of us without too much variation in our opinions. Again, we apologize to everyone for the complexity of that process and not being able to respond to everyone on a more personal level. If it were only one of us making the decision we could have been much more specific and personal since only one opinion would have mattered. I guess it just goes to show the old addage is true: Too many cooks spoil the soup, right? Or in this case, "the process"!
So again, thank you all for your efforts. Great work.

I honestly do not see much of a compositional/color difference between Daniel D's and Bob's...and stylistically there isn't much diff except that Bob's font choice for the name is more squat than the streamlined/professional looking font of Daniel's. What was the clincher here?

I feel sorta robbed in a way, as I wasn't really given the chance to compete, I was told by PM I as in the lead but I never got feedback after words on what he wanted or liked. I sent another PM way before the competition was over but never got a response so I had no idea Bob took the lead and I had no idea what to improve on.

Bob, comments like following are very unprofessional and blatantly desperate acts to try and win.

    Comment mentioned above:
"This was orginaly created as a Vectored Image in Illustrator that now has been
exported to Photoshop as you clearly looking for less a vectored image as
orginaly stated. Knowning Vectored can be easily resized large or small would
have been better but this is what you seem to be looking towards none vectored
    graphics."

All in all I had fun with this competition and hope to hear back from you about your site redesign.

There was one last entry in this contest that came in after the contest was closed. It was entered by PinoyDesign but came in too late to be considered. If anyone would like to see it, feel free to click here:

It there is any way we can get our logos more to your liking please let us know cause
your feedback is the most important way to let us know what it you want and if we are
even close to what you invision your logo to be. I look forward in seeing some constructive
feedback so I know if there is anything more or else I can do.

This was exactly the motivation I needed to get up and keep working on logos for this contest and other contests, if there's anything you'd like done just point me in the direction and I will do the best I can.

    Hello everyone,
Thank you all for your efforts up to date. Since we are so specific on what we're looking for we have decided to end this contest a few days early. The new end date will be Wed, November 15th at 8pm (eastern time). Currently, we are leaning towards Daniel D's designs but any last minute entries are always welcome.

    Question:

For the next 5 days of this contest, is it going to be just everyone making the same
thing or do we still have some flexibility to create outside of the box and yet
keep it professional and within the limits of $100.00 worth of work?

    Comments:

I only say this cause I feel that this is like beating a dead horse if we all are doing
the exact same thing and not knowing what it is you want when it comes to the cut and
paste feedback responces we all are getting or the void of no responces as it seems as well.
I am all for making something that looks good and to a group like TAPS that searches for
paranormal activity. I hope you can be more forth coming in feedback as well as what
direction you want to take this contest.

    Hello all.
First off thanks to everyone who has submitted their entries so far. Like we said in our initial contest listing, we have several members of the group trying to agree on this logo design and its not an easy task to get everyone on the same page.
Over the past few days we've flip-flopped amongst ourselves as to which direction to go with the design. What has happened is that one of our own members came up with a *very* rough design but one that we all agree on! We are now hoping you guys can "clean it up" for us!

Here is a link to the rough draft:
    http://www.enchantedindigo.com/lisp…ttempt.htm

Here is what we like and want to keep in the design:
    * BLACK silhouette of Long Island
    * the Island should be slightly "tipped up" towards the right (as some of you have already done)
    * the EVP "wave" around LISPR in that shade of green
(You can find a sample of that EVP wave here:
    http://www.52z.com/uploadImages/200…14155.gif)
    * LISPR in the center of the Island
    * under the Island the whole name should be spelled out:
Long Island Society for Paranormal Research
    * All fonts should be Garamond
    * It seems the color of LISPR across the Island needs to be white in order to be seen, but the full name underneath the island can probably be black.

I think that covers it for now.
Thanks for your patience in our decision-making!

I hate to ask but what is with the cookie-cutter feedback? I've looked at a view replies and they are 'exactly' the same. A little personal feedback would be nice.
