- OpenPress's mission is to print the most affordable high-quality textbooks in the world. The "Open" in OpenPress refers to openly-licenced textbooks, for example textbooks licenced under Creative Commons copyright licences, as well as the open process in which orders are aggregated. Through its website and through direct contact with schools, colleges and universities, OpenPress will aggregate demand for printed versions of openly-licenced textbooks. Through economies of scale, OpenPress will drive down printing costs and make affordable textbooks a reality for learners.
