Nobody can blame 99D or the crowdsourcing model for this one.
At every stage of this competition nearly 1600 designers have been spoonfed false information by the Occupy team about they wanted, they offered a totally inaccurate and misleading brief and a .pdf of examples which with hindsight were probably just mashed together without no thought whatsoever and were put in place with the object of misdirection.
They never intended on landing on a design that was original and more importantly had a good concept behind it. It's obvious now that this was what they intended from the start. Someone earlier mentioned publicity and I think that is probably correct, I haven't quite figured the angle yet but this definitely is all about publicity.
I actually feel sorry for maspoji the winner because unless he has got a very strong concept behind is design and can talk till the cows come home about his work then he will get slaughtered, there's a good chance it will ruin his design career, how can he be taken seriously after this?... After he gets pulled apart from the many questions, which will be published! ....and all that because the Occupy team have used him and his generic O for their diabolical publicity stunt.
Is it profound? No it is not; Sometimes the character O from a generic font is just that.... The character O from a generic font.
There's so many loopholes concerned with this brief that it is untrue. From the lying brief to the message earlier in this thread from the Occupy team that called for the perfect O and perfect spacing between the letters..Really Occupy team?
