    Congrats design president. Well deserved!!

I think there were less designers as the idea was very unique and hard to grasp.
    Goodluck with your business.

I have awarded the contest to #20 for it's simplicity and elegance, although I was torn because I think #40 is a VERY close second, so my special thanks to pegatinas too.

All of you have done very well!

I was overall disappointed with the number of designers who contributed and am not sure what to make of that. Can designers suggest why they think there were such few people in the comp? was the timing bad (over Memorial Day weekend)? Did I write too tight a brief?

    All advice appreciate.

    Thanks again, everyone.

I do like the way the logotype (font) works in #29

And I really like the lion in #20

However I'd prefer a lion full- or half-facing the viewer, not side-on.

Sorry Terry. My weekend is a bit out of sync with North America... so I'm back from the weekend and you guys are not yet, etc.

Folks, #20 is my favourite so far. But keep the creativity flowing :)

Just saw this... and I kinda like it. Simple but evocative. Too "metallic" for our purposes, but just wanted to show you all :)

So as not to be confusing I will add the summary points from my comments above into the creative brief :)

Sorry I may have been misleading about the "fist" by mentioning how much I liked that first image (above).

Folks, a thought about fists! In reference to designs that include a fist, up to and including #15... I think the first is too small compared to the wings. I also have to raise a caution that my client is not 100% delighted with a fist, in general. He is afraid it will be too "militant" in feel, and would prefer something that says "strength" but doesn't have an adversarial feel about it. Fists tend to represent an adversarial stance. This site is about men's lives and issues, yes, but not really about "men's rights", i.e. not an advocacy site, for which a fist would make sense.

I'm thinking more about eagles or lions or some other visual representation of strength or "covering"... the sense that men are called to lead and to be a protection for others (in the family or whatever). The fist doesn't make me feel that.

    Hope this helps :)

Hi folks. Thanks for the submissions so far.

As a designer myself, let me be clear on one point: I do not apologise for being quick to eliminate designs where I can be fairly confident the designer has not properly read my creative brief.

I went to quite a lot of trouble writing what I hope is a decent brief, in order to give contestants as much of "what's in my head" as possible, and you're welcome to ask more questions, etc.

I'm not trying to be harsh, just up front and clear about my expectations :)

CONTESTANTS PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT ALONG WITH MY BRIEF!!

I kind of really like this (hint!):

...except it is so "complicated" you can't call it a logo. I can see this on a t-shirt and other promo materials, with no change at all... so can you come up with a complimentary logo?!?! Something that would look great on a belt buckle, say?

Generally, I love the bold feel you get out of these kinds of design elements:

    http://www.istockphoto.com/file_sea…text=eagle

Quite like the idea of a 3D logo along the lines of this "knocker" that has this kind of background with it (a texture of some sort). I would then design a site with a white box for the content area, say. Sure it's a little dark, but it would be in contrast to the content area...

Please send me links here to stuff you think you'd like my reflections on prior to a formal submission... just don't overwhelm me, and please read everything in the brief and here FIRST!

    Many thanks.
