Kig & Webatl I totally agree with you. I am professional designer that's why I know what are the basics of logos and the restrictions. Since Its my profession thats why I know whats better for the client. Here since everything is open and no restrictions, so client can pick any immature logo. I made several templates which were professionally designed and the template who won didn't have the professional touch and technical coding requirement. So I think client should see the designer profile first and then choose the logo. Cheers guys.

and very often these very unprofessional logos win, which are not actually usable, they're messy with too many details and cannot be scaled small or big or wont work in black and white version. In this site anyone can be a designer and I agree with the previous posts

Plus you get a nice clean design posted, it gets a few stars and then suddenly there pops up a lot of lookalikes.

I have to agree with you, but generally speaking design contests are bad for designers. It encourages working on speculation and most of the designers never get paid for their work. Obviously, if a contest owner was really serious about getting a good logo they wouldn't be holding a contest at all. They would find a designer with a portfolio they liked and work with that designer to get the logo they wanted. That way the designer is paid fairly and the client gets what they wanted.

I'll only enter a contest on here if it interests me and I have a simple/quick idea for a logo. I view it more as a way to get more logo ideas in my portfolio. Putting a lot time in to this site and expecting something in return is not a good idea.

This is not healthy activity for designers, all the designers have been creating very nice logos, and client is not replying and eliminating without any feedback. If you cant select any designer its fine but at least encourage them by giving them feedback what exactly do you want. Hope other designers would agree what I am saying! davie7 got 4 stars and eliminated! what he might be thinking!
