Help us build a collaborative video series by creating its logo
Web Made Movies is a video series highlighting the people who are building an open, participatory internet - told by the people of the web. It's part of Mozilla Drumbeat (http://drumbeat.org), an initiative to help everyday people contribute to Mozilla's mission of protecting and growing the open nature of the internet.
We want to extend Mozilla's uniquely open way of working to whole new areas beyond software. Like making movies! WebMadeMovies will be an open source documentary made by, and for, the web. We need a logo that reflects this collaborative spirit, and we're looking for your help. This is a great opportunity to help shape this project and help us attract contributors and supporters.
The first use of the logo will be on The Web Made Movies drumbeat page, found here:
http://www.drumbeat.org/project/webmademovie
We will also use the logo within the episodes themselves
Mozilla Foundation
Everyday people who use the web - Web Made Movies is part of Mozilla's Drumbeat project, which focuses on everyday web users. So it should be accessible and friendly to everyday consumers.
We also want to attract the filmmaking community, so they should immediately "get" that its a filmmaking project involved with the recognizable and web-centric Mozilla brand.
-The artwork should reflect a project that is being created by multiple people pitching in. (For a good example, see The Mozilla Home Tab design challenge here - http://design-challenge.mozillalabs…/winter09)
-It should feature the Mozilla Dino - this can be an original rendering, or using the logo found here. Note that if you use the actual logo, you must not change it. The Dino logo is attached, and the trademark policy is here: http://tinyurl.com/yew2kjr
-It should use use the iconography of filmmaking - clappers, projectors, cameras, laptops, lights etc
-It should be in the Mozilla spirit - playful, bright colours, whimsical) - for some examples, see logos created for Mozilla Labs (https://mozillalabs.com/)
-It should follow font style guides here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Drumbeat/styleguide
-We need a version of the logo with and without text, as well as versions on black and white backgrounds
-It should work at a variety of scales
-It should be a vector graphic
-it MUST use the words Web Made Movies - this is a design challenge for Web Made Movies, not the Mozilla Foundation as a whole
-It should kick butt and be fun
