Congrats LogoB !
Food for thought:
There have been some really creative designs so far. After looking at many examples, I thought I would share some general thoughts:
1. In terms of color, I think many of the best looking designs are on black backgrounds. I would be interested in seeing more designs that incorporate muted military colors (tan, coyote brown, ranger green, olive drab green, grey, etc).
2. Many people have been creating designs using aircraft, which has been great. However, I would be interested in seeing some original ideas with design elements that are different from aircraft yet still are identifiable to the military or law enforcement. Some examples include: armor plating (on vehicles, aircraft, people, etc), combat boot footprints, a head with a balaclava on it, etc.
3. Some designs have been incorporating crosshairs, which I am generally trying to avoid.
4. I was looking at other logo contests on sitepoint and I thought this design was really striking: http://contests.sitepoint.com/conte…ies/274822 I wonder if something similar could be made with a "tactical" theme.
5. I just posted online a few more random sketches/designs that I created here: http://website.smugmug.com/gallery/…/232854555 I'm not an artist, but I thought these designs might inspire some ideas.
Here's another logo I like a lot: http://www.mechlab.net/images/netmech4logo.jpg The "armor" theme is something common to all branches of military as well as law enforcement.
I just posted some conceptual sketches online that I made a week ago...I'm not an artist...but I'm making these available to anyone who may be interested in playing with the designs or wrapping them into their own designs: http://website.smugmug.com/gallery/…1567/Large
