I hate getting ripped as much as the next guy. But in this case.. I think when the contest holder is descriptive in the brief and asks that we use a microwave timer or clock display. something to display speed.. waves, etc.. You can not say someone has ripped you off. They are only following the brief as stated. There are only so many ways to make a clock. But you did pull out the win, regardless. Congrats.

tomat274: yes, it is a contest but that doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want. There are rules and copyright laws you should be aware of. And before you comment, go and read this: http://contests.sitepoint.com/help/…guidelines. I'm pretty sure you didn't go through the guidelines. Let me give you an example.. let's say i got an idea of using a swoosh which is slightly different from the nike one, do you think nike would allow me to do that? I can just tell them that hey! i got this idea and i've never seen the nike swoosh! I should be good to go with my new swoosh right?

i agreed with you reubenhauser. I think most designers here would be use their mouse to draw stuff like that due to the brief. Come on this is contest and it's free for all. Let the client judge them and take what they "like" coz sometimes each of us will think that we got better idea. excuse me if I'm wrong. And for entz come on bro, sorry if you feel being ripped off, but trust me I have dignity to not.

No, my idea came from reading the brief and not from kokuryu's, i beleive that it's kokuryu who got the circle idea from my entry. I get what you mean..if everybody thinks about it, then i'm right to say that it's not unique. Anyway, i'm not going to waste anymore time on this issue. Goodluck to all!

hmmm.. Entz, i think you misundertood my statement, im not pointing out that the analog clock is not sooooo unique, i didnt mention that. what im saying is that "what would be the first thing will come up into anybody's mind is time/clock (any clock)if he/she read the title". i noticed that your idea was base on kokuryu's entry which is a digital clock, the idea is there, but the illustration must be different, im i right? don't worry if you win, no hurt feelings :)

Nejikun: Oh well.. what can i say. I don't need those childish and irresponsible display to win a contest. Those are the kind of mentality that will make you and whoever believes in what you've just said a "BETTER" designer. All the best to all those who are going to use the 30mins analog clock. Looks like it's not a unique idea. Then the CH SHOULD not pick this design as the winner because it's so CLICHE. Neijikun and pals, looks like you've wasted your time designing those clocks in the end :) and a BIG thank you to Nejikun who pointed out that the analog clock is SOOOOO NOT UNIQUE and done a million times over and over again!

hey entz, ive never ripped off any of your designs, what would be the first thing that comes into every designers or non designers mind once they've read the "30 mins max" and "microwave"? of course a clock!.. regardless if digital or analog, and whats the difference between the digital and analog clock? they are same idea with different illustration.. my designs are way too different from yours. do you wanna see an example of a ripped off design? heres a link. http://contests.sitepoint.com/contests/4500 the idea is in title itself not from you. i can think on my own. Let the CH decide if i have to withdraw my entries.

tudjuhdosa, tomat274, nejikun and illustrativecp..Come on guys! This is ridiculous! It's damn obvious i'm being ripped off! Be advised that i will take all the actions necessary if you don't remove your entries at once. Copying or using elements/ideas from other designer is not allowed here (YOU are designers too, YOU should know better!). Please go and read the sitepoint guidelines for designers before you enter any contest.
