I know what you mean! what the hell does it mean when contest holders say "web 2.0" font ---- that to me means basic system fonts like arial or times or verdana.

Can someone tell me what the hell web 2.0 fonts are? Because I know of CMS and Ajax and dynamic pages....

...at least you have a better win rate than I do. But I am learning how to simplify my designs better!

Give this a few days, afterall this is the branding of his business.

I just addressed this in the blogs. ( not this contest. but al of them. ) i submitted a screen shot of my pc. Out of 15 contests, 10 ended with no winner. ( this being one of them) I can believe how bad this is. Its time to find another place to play, i think.

I agree Stealth. I used to submit to Sitepoint a few years ago. Much more feedback there. Getting feedback on this site is like pulling teeth. To any contest holder reading this: Feedback is for your benefit. You will get a lot more concepts with your preferences in mind. Most of us won't keep submitting new ideas without feedback. We are not mindreaders so when you do leave feedback don't say things like I don't like the color or font. Instead give some examples of what your do like for example, blue and green or a thick blocky font. Oh, and while I'm at it web 2.0 is not a design term. Web 2.0 is about collaborating and sharing information.

How can two exact designs (all bar a few pixel spaces) get two different star ratings?

99 Designs (Sitepoint) have made these contests much harder for the designer by adding the
Star Rating system, it just encourages less feedback from the CH. A prime example is this contest...
out of 62 entries the CH has managed to comment on just 2 designs and given 2 entries, of the same design,
a 1 star and a 3 star. Basically the Star Rating system tells us nothing, and most of us designers end up
wasting our own time and money.

    @CaptainTrips

If you have problem with my design you should have Private Message me,anyway my entry is removed.

It was not inspired or copied from your design. It's my design/idea and i have used this same design concept in one previous contest but CH doesn't like it at all, please see link below:
    http://99designs.com/contests/5139/…ies/329463

I will work another concept :).

    Good Luck !

Yeah, I'd say it kinda irks me, symbolic. But I have a solution... I formaly here do announce that the "three individuals" design submitted by me is now public domain. You all may post a version of this rough and ready first concept. May the best plagerist win.

That really bites Captain - a solid concept and with so many days left you'd have plenty of time to revise your design.

There should be more specifics about concept "emulation" for designers - also about concept/design revisions through feedback for contest holders. If there was we'd most likely see less of this sort of thing and designs would improve.

In my opinion it's damaging sitepoint/99designs and gives a CH less originality/quality to choose from - it also promotes bad vibes which is never beneficial...

Wizard Mayur... Three circles placed atop the "M" to represent three individuals with some sort of stylized representation for bodies. Look familiar? A little disheartening that the contest holder would give someone who submits a variation on someone else's idea a higher score than they give the originator of that idea
