you need to do some ratings for the submissions or eliminate some. your contest is marked as unhealthy and doubtful you will get any decent submissions
From jack Nales: I don't think any of the four designs meet all the requirements. Except for the words in the church name, nothing says methodist; nothing says 200-year-old church. I DO like the text/fonts in designs #2 and #3-- they convey that modern/contemporary message desired (especially #3), but not the graphics. Both are just generic clipart. Either would be much better if they incorporated the existing ink rendering of the church (as used on the church facebook page). That would better identify the church (brand it) by using a recognizable image.
It's not necessarily too modern. The challenge is conveying tradition with relevance, not being ashamed of tradition without being bound by it. Including a cross is fine, but it needs to have some uniqueness.
sorry i meant to put is it to modern? not it is. Ok i shall another approach but are you open to the use of a cross or would another piece of imagery be more apt
Thanks
This project is being done by a church committee -- none of us have much logo experience, so we are learning as we go. We need something that will work on letterhead, our bulletins, newsletters, floormats, Tshirts, mugs, etc.,etc. If you look at our newsletter online, you will get a feel for who we are as a group.
Thanks for your feedback. It is too modern for what you were after
Thanks

#1: I think I like the text, but I am not sure about the graphic.
