WOW maebird I am shocked at your blatant attempt to rip off my design. your #218 has every element of my #201 & #178. Please remove it and come up with your own designs. I will report you next time. Thanks for your cooperation.

Here are some of my images to help yourselves to if you want to try a watermark. There are couples, bride alone, groom alone (which is a major reason why I didn't want flowers BTW) and a details shot. The settings for my weddings ranges from ornate historical buildings to trees, rural Australia, urban ally-ways etc. I guess it's the ultimate test for the diversity of my logo....

    Again... I hope that helps.

I think it might be helpful if I give a bit of a general update....

Firstly, it has come to my attention that I should have requested an .eps file (for Illustrator) from the winning entry. If this is a problem, I might accept a high res layered .psd file. I apologise for not mentioning this in my initial brief.

There are some nice designs coming through now, and I want to thank everyone for their efforts. There is a definite trend toward symetrical designs with damask or filigree elements centered above and below my business name. While these are nice, I am hoping for something more. In my own attempts to create my own logo / branding I have created more designs like this than I can count. I wasn't satisfied with my own results, so it's unlikely I will choose a winning design like this. That would mean this competition was merely about choosing the best centered damask/botanical/filigree/swirly thing.... and not what I was hoping for.

Some suggestions that might catch my eye and win my heart :
    - I would love an unexpected twist... something modern and edgey created from one of these gorgeous graphics. Not just centered above/below. That is the obvious thing to do though... I realise.
    - I like the idea of PART of an element, sliced into sections, or cropped tightly off centre, or in a box or circle. Maybe sliced inside a box, with just part of it left to poke out of the box....?

Try a very modern, contemporary, clean design that merely uses a vintage/elegant/botanical element. Try cropped off-centre, sliced sections, slices that use different shades (even just shades of grey).

    I hope this helps....

Oh Lord! I wish some of you would read the brief! I hate the idea of wasting your time, but a few of you are doing this to YOURSELVES by not reading the guidlines and the list of explicit DO NOTS. Alright.... once more

My business name is ANNIE WARREN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY. Shheeesh... get the name right for a great first impression!!!!!!

DO NOT USE FLOWERS, BIRDS, BUTTERFLIES OR OTHER ANIMALS
    DO NOT USE SCRIPTINA FONT
DO NOT USE PINK, MAUVE OR OTHER PASTEL COLOURS (you'd be better off using no colour than colours I hate!!!!)
NO NOT USE ANY CARTOON ELEMENTS, CAMERAS, APERTURES, TUXEDOS, RINGS OR OTHER CORNY WEDDING CLICHES

I also mentioned in my comments that I tend to like a classic serif font in all caps for ANNIE WARREN, and that i realy dislike capital A that looks like a large lower case A. I also suggest trying handwritten or sans serif fonts for 'wedding photography'.
    .

    Please DO USE....

Clean SIMPLE designs which look classy , elegant and would appeal to a high end bride.

Botanical, swirl, filigree or damask elements.... though this is not ESSENTIAL to the winning design

Designs that tend toward a landscape shape overall because they will be easier for me to use in most applications than a finished design which is as tall as it is wide. (or nearly)

Designs need to be able to withstand being displayed very small or in single colour (photo watermarks for example) so background elements and very fine, ornate embellishments are probably not going to work well for me.

Try modern twists on vintage or classic graphics, like asymmetry, tight crops and tilts. I'd love something elegant that was just a little 'unexpected'.

I now refuse to make any comment or feedback for a design if it's very clear the designer hasn't read the brief. If I don't rate or comment, or eliminate you straight away.... you need to read the brief!

It's 2.00am here, and I just HAVE to go to bed! Thought I'd let y'all know (we never say that in Australia) that the feedback is about to stop.... which is a good thing because I stopped making sense some time ago! I will be back tomorrow.... thanks, Annie.

I'm going to eliminate the entries that didn't especially appeal to me. I don't want to offend anyone, but there are so many now that I need to thin them out a little. To those who are eliminated.... thank you very much for your efforts, and please keep submitting new entries if you're so inclined. Annie.

I think I will prefer clean serif capitals for the 'ANNIE WARREN' part of the design at least. I don't seem to like the 'r' in many hand written fonts... and I really dislike capital 'a' that is the same as lower case 'a'.
    Just FYI.

It might help if I set my own star rating system... so you can see what appeals to me at a glance.

1 star - not within the outlines of my brief. Perhaps you should read it again.
2 stars - doesn't really appeal to me
3 stars - I like certain elements, but it doesn't really hit the mark
4 stars - close... but needs tweaking
    5 stars - a definite contender

I don't want to be mean or discouraging, but I do need to be honest or I'm just wasting your time.

Just a reminder... the name of the business is "Annie Warren Wedding Photography"..... and I don't like flowers (well, not in my logo anyway!)
    #2.... a bit too 'tizzy' I'm afraid
#1..... looks a lot like my curent logo/branding.

I really want something different to my own attempts. I'm not just after a rework of what I already have. I linked to my site mainly to show my photographic style.
